One of the places we've decided we must visit while at the Andaman Coast is Phang Nga bay - we visited Halong Bay last month, only for it to be enveloped in mist and rain the whole time...atmospheric but not exactly picturesque and majestic as we'd expected.
So...it'd be silly not to go to P-N-B this year...we realise it's smaller but it's the same sort of thing.
But I've read that tourist access to the bay is restricted. Is this the case? And even if it is, what is the best way to get near there, and from where do boats/tours start? I'd want to bring a decent (D-SLR) camera along, so anything which involves very small boats or getting in-and-out of a boat from the water is probably best avoided.
Also, is it still possible to visit the 'James Bond Island' with the karst in the middle of the bay (apologies, forgotten the name and the guide book is at home)?
Thanks once again,
