My wife and I will be visiting Maui on the 8th and 9th of January on a cruise ship. Both avid golfers, it is our intention to go to Plantation golf course in Kapalua on the 8th to watch the tournament of champions on the Sunday from around 11am departing back to Kahului around 6pm. With all good intentions we will head straight to the golf around 9.30am given we are ashore. I tried to make a online enquiries on the best way to economically get there but short of hiring a car have not had much luck on transport options. Can anybody advise best options
A car will be the lowest price option. A taxi will be over200 round trip.
Dave thanks you obviously mean rentalcar yeah?
I hope you enjoy it. I really like the atmosphere at that tourney.
I agree with the above. That said, try to drive through the town of Lahaina, which is about 4-5 miles before getting to Kapalua (which used to be old Fleming Beach...). simply drive down Front Street, and back to the highway to Kapalua.
Once you see that little town, you will want to spend some time there, even an hour or two would help. By that I mean, consider doing spending some time there after the tournament or even the next day, but try to include a bit of time there.
I used to live in Lahaina, so I am a bit biased, but I would venture to say that you will like the place.
