Transportation for five persons from Zürich airport to Rifferswil at about 11 pm possibly on wednesday august 6. What is the best way to make that. And if you have an idea of the cost would be useful to know. Thank you for helping!
We are planning to spend two weeks in Switzerland in early June before we leave for Italy--one week in Zurich and the other in Lucerne. Will we be able to explore the high Alps from these two locations or would we be better to stay in other areas that would have major transportation connections for day trips as we will be using public transportation. We were hoping to stay in the Old Town of Zurich in an apartment or efficiency for one week and then move to Lucerne for the second week. Would appreciate any help before we purchase our plane tickets to Zurich.
Hi, if yo want to share costs i am looking for a space in a car for tomorrow. cheers
Hi, my wife and I will be travelling to Switzerland within a few days and we find Swiss half fare pass quite an attractive option. My question is:
Do we need to buy 1 Swiss half fare pass or 2 in order that both of us can have 50% discount on bus, train, cogwheel, cable car, ferry, boat, and funiculars?
You help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I will be in Zurich in early Sept and will be staying in Zurich for 3 ful days. I plan to go to Lucerne to enjoy magnificent Alpine view. Apart from that i also plan to go to Lauterbrunnen (via Interlaken) or Interlaken, but I am wondering if it is too much for Alpine sightseeing as it seems that Lucerne might overlap with Interlaken as both are Alpine views. I am thinking if Interlaken can be swapped with another city tour i.e. Lausanne, Geneva, Basel, etc. What do you think?
Also, when touring Zurich city, a day pass covering subway, tram, bus available? how much?
Are there discount flights from Zurich to Geneva or Martigny?
I'll be in Zurich for work in January or february and it seems criminal not to stay for the weekend and ski a bit.
I'm an intermediate skier, comfortable with up to red pistes. I can do black pistes if not icy but I'd prefer to avoid them. I'll be on a moderate budget so will not be looking at four star resort/accomodation, this will be closer to a two-star budget.
I have researched a bit and there seems to be a lot of ski resorts that can be accessed by train or train + bus. The ones I have noticed are: Davos, Engelberg, Laax and Klosters. I have a slight preference for Engelberg which seems a bit cheaper in term of ski pass (I'll be there two days so while I want a good total length of pistes, I don't need 400kms!)
Any idea which would be easiest to reach on a Friday evening? Maybe one of these is v. nera teh rail station while others need a bus transfer? Any particular recommendations or warnings?
Are there any B&Bs in downtown Zurich.
Thanks for any info
My wife and I will be in Zurich for about 48 hours - arriving about 11 a.m. on May 17 and leaving on a 10:30 a.m. flight on May 19. We were thinking of spending May 17 touring the city and its immediate surroundings, and then taking a day excursion to Jungfraujoch on May 18 by train.
We're still unsure if a day trip to Jungfraujoch is a wise idea (at almost 230 USD per person in just train tickets). If not, what would be a better way to spend the day? We've heard about trips to the Rhine Falls or touring the towns of Bern / Lucerne or then the "Golden Round Trip" to Mt. Pilatus as possible alternatives.
We are essentially looking for activities that give us a reasonably good feel for both, the city and the countryside, within 48 hours without it being too strenuous. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thank you very much.
we are visiting Zürich from 15.01 and are staying there for 5 days. We plan to stay in Zürich but make some short stays to other cities. I have some questions:
1. Is a day ticket for 8 CHF valid for the whole city of Zürich? Also airport? Or we should choose something else? We just want to hang around a bit, see how the city looks like, not more.
2. We would like a one day trip to mountains, looking for nice views. What would you advise? How long do you travel there approximately?
3. What other cities are advisable to see in winter? Geneva? Luzern? Lausanne? Something else?...
Thank you very much in advance!
I am hoping to go to the boxing on Dec 20th at Hallenstadion. Trying to buy tickets but you have to register on the website and it is all in German.
Can anyone offer any advice?
Also, any good 70's 80's or 90's discos in Zurich?
What is the best way (flying?) to get from Zurich to Rijeka?
It is a bit complex for me to understand.
On one particular day I have to take the following journey.
1. Zurich airport to Zurich Main Train Station
2. Zurich Main Train Station to Niederhasli
3. Niederhasli to Zurich Main Train Station
Which ticket I should buy that does let me do the above travel cost effectively?
How does one go from Zurich airport to CH-8703 Erlenbach? Is there any Indian restaurant in CH-8703 Erlenbach?
If not nearby, what is the nearest Indian restaurant?

Family vacation. Flying into Zurich. We will have a lot of luggage so I thought it would be a good idea to rent a car. We have 4 nights in Switzerland with 2 boys, 8 and 12. Would love a daytrip to Milan (Is it better to take a train for that). One night in Zurich, One in Lucerne, One in Bern, One in Geneva? Can we stay in Zurich and do daytrips to other cities? Next we are headed to Paris (I am told it is about 5 hours from Geneva). Desperate for a great plan THANK YOU!!!
We will very likely need to leave our car at Zurich Airport for about 2.5 weeks while we go on holiday. I've had a look at their website and it appears that they have long-term parking at P60. Unfortunately all info regarding it is in German (which I don't speak). I have put the text through an on-line translator and I know it's saying something abt how to get from the parking lot to the airport using the bus service - that's the part of the translation I can't figure out! Could someone please help? Text as follows:
Thanks so much for any help!

I've been trying to purchase the 72 hour Adult ZurichCard for a few months and the website says that it's been out of stock. Is there another way to purchase it? We're arriving by air on 2-July and will be staying until 5-July. Any suggestions? Thank you!

Hello, I'll be traveling around Eastern europe in July, and I'll be catching a traing from Ljubljana, Slovenia, towards Zurich (around 39 EU, according to the website). Then I need to go to Ravensburg to meet a friend, and she told me that instead of the direct train, I should get to Konstanz and take the ferry across the lake to Friedrichschafen, where she can pick me up. What do u think? is it much cheaper that way than taking a train to Ravensburg? I bet is more fun, but any word of wisdom on this?
My wife and I are first-time travelers to Europe. We are flying in and out of Zurich, but are finishing our tour in Rome. So we have to take the train back to Zurich for our flight, which leaves at 10:35 a.m. Trains come in at 1:30 a.m. and 8:55 a.m. My question is this: Does the 8:55 give us enough time? Are the trains consistently on time, or do they ever get delayed? Thanks for your advice!

I decided to get out of the US for Thanksgiving, so I'm catching a flight tomorrow from Washington DC to Zurich. I've got three days to enjoy. I'm a single male. I'd appreciate any advice on things to do, how to meet people, and, most importantly how to be part of a real Zurich experience.
I am thinking of staying at the Hotel Bristol with my 2 young children. Can anyone provide an opinions on this hotel? Would you recommend it? Thank-you.
