I'm going to JP around the 19th of June, and I'm wondering how much rain I should expect at that time of the year (I'll be there for a week). How far is JP from "Praia da Pipa"? Is it doable as a day trip? Thanks
Praia da Pipa is around 150Km far from Joao Pessoa. Praia da Pipa is connected to Joao Pessoa by a paved road. However Praia da Pipa is closer to Natal/RN, and there are current public buses between Natal and Pipa.
June is the time of a regional festivity at these places. People named this festivity as June's Party. People make-up as hayseed and bring into play.
The June's party of Campina Grande (Paraiba State) and Caruaru (Pernambuco State) are
well known by brazilians.
At this time there is no rain at these locations.
I am sending below some links concerned in Pipa and brazilian June's festivity.
Muito obrigado pelas informacoes e uma otima semana!
Thanks a lot! You're a great JP resource!
Wonderful choice! Jampa is a tourist pearl yet to be discovered! You will love it! Pipa is worthed more than one day of visit though... I was in both places last march and they are adorable!
have a nice trip. By the way, i moved from Jampa to Pipa by bugue!
Thanks for the info! Looking forward to a great time in JP.
Not to dampen your spirit but dont forget you are coming to JP at the height of the rainy season. As a general rule, it rains during the night and peters out in the morning.
On the subject of websites, there is a brand new website called
which is solly devoted to everything, Joao Pessoa. It is regularly updated and the "whats on where" is probably the most comprehensive in Brasil.
The site deals with all aspects and even has a forum.
I'm also planning to travel to JP during May and the first part of June. Is it VERY rainy throughout the day, or heavy rains mainly in the evening but still sunny and warm during the day? Is May better than June?
Thanks. I think I wrote to him there as well.
