We recently purchased some pottery at the Mt. of Olives Bazaar Jerusalem Gate. We have not received our purchases yet and it's been three weeks. Does anyone out there know how to contact this business? We have no phone number and can't find it on the internet. Thanks for any help!
I am an expatriate residing in Dubai and my husband and I would like to take our 75-year old dad for a pilgrimage to Jerusalem. I believe there are restrictions in place, specifically those with Israel stamps in their passport won't be allowed entry back to Dubai.
Is there a way to get past this restriction? Is it too risky given that there is a chance of not being allowed entry back to Dubai?
Would you know of any reliable travel agencies that could help?
Thank you very much!
From the point of view of a local. My wife and I rarely join fix tours, and we wish to visit Jerusalem and make as many side trips as possible. Are their many visitors that comes to Jerusalem without any tour guides and once we arrive Jerusalem we wish to choose tour guides, whether it be christian or not. We would like to travel fairly economically yet see as many places all over Jerusalem and side trips. We would appreciate any tips and comments.
We are aware that during October hotels or accommodations would costs a bit more, would you know of private homes that accepts tourists....as in Spain, there are many private homes that accommodates tourists for less costs which is so interesting yet we learn many local ways rather than secluding ourselves to tourists hotel costs. Many thanks for any comment or tips you may offer. God BLESS.
Found a few nice apartments in the German quarter for a half to a third of some of the Hotels. I seem to feel I would smile all trip long if I woke up in a nice apartment in the Old City instead (and found a inexpensive guide lol). Any knowledge of any of either?
For the beginning of October, some VT pals are hunting centrally located nice apartments (350+ ils a nite)or hotels (taxi and walking places) and giving a senior traveler some ideas on what to see there before he takes the big trip. I have Emailed a few guides that lean towards Christian sites, however, due to studies, I am so very amazed at all that is there. Nothing solid yet sooooooo any ideas to assist the quest? Simple commands work best with me :) Be well. Sam
I am planning a 2 week tour from the US through the Holy Land and would like to know of any American tour companies that have a particularly good reputation for being a quality tour company.
What is the CURRENT situation with Non-Muslims going inside the Dome of the Rock? Can't find this info anywhere

Hello, We will be arriving on a Costa Cruise for one day on Thur March 31. My husband and I would like to go to the Mount of Olives, Garden of Gethsemene, the Israel Museum (only to see the dead sea scrolls) and the dead sea. Does anyone know if this is doable? We arrive in Ashdod at 7am and leave at 8pm. We aren't interested in going with the ship and being treated like a herd of cattle. Can we hire a taxi and any idea how much this would cost? And is there anyone that will be on that cruise that would be interested in sharing the cab ride?
hello! i enjoy always watching the live web cam of the wailing wall. i notice that there appears to be palm trees in the foreground of the plaza that weren't there before. can someone tell me what that is--a sitting area or whatever? thanks
hello, this is patty asking abouat the hebron hostel.
i appreciate the feedback on my previous question.
is there any way that someone can find out how much it costs for a female dorm room? i didn't want to have to call, and they have no email.
I'll be traveling from Jerusalem to Cairo by bus on March 3, 2010. The Visa application asks for a port of entry into Egypt. Does anyone know where this might be? I understand that holders of U.S. Passports do not need a Visa for Isreal, correct? Thank you for your assistance.
I'll be visiting Jerusalem next month and would like to ask for recommendations on hostel. Just a bed to rest at night..no frills needed as my budget range would be USD30 or less. Would be nice if it's in the Old City, safe, and most importantly with clean toilet/bathroom. Don't care much about the noise as I sleep very soundly :0)
I've checked on Citadel Youth Hostel but got mixed reviews especially on the toilet issue. Petra Hostel, not much info as well as on the East New Imperial Hotel.
I understood that we need a special permission if we would like to go to Bethlehem from jerusalem. Where do we apply for the permission? How many days we need to apply it? If we join a group tour, can the agent help on this?
Where can I buy Olive wood while in Tel Aviv? This is the same wood the vendors use to make religous items, however I want to make them out of the same wood. If someone could provide an address in Tel Aviv or Jerusalem where I could go and buy the raw wood, that would be great!
I will be inb Tel Aviv onyl for 2 days, and I would like to visit Jerusalem and Bethlehem on one of those days, as a day trip!
Is it possible to do that in 1 day, by public transport? If not, how much would it cost to arrange a private car/driver to take me there and back to Tel Aviv?
And another question (and please forgive my ignorance!): I seem to remember that Bethlehem is part of Palestine. Does that mean there's some border in place, or is Bethleham going to be part of a FUTURE Palestinian independent country???? Sorry, again, if this question sounds really stupid!
Thanks for all your information!

i was wondering could anyone tell me where in jerusalem the shefa shuk supermarket store is in jerusalem or where the ultra orthodox supermarkets are. my reason for asking is when i visit this year i quite fancy doing some shopping there just to see what they are like. if soemone could give directions on how to get their street names bus numbers that go near them that would be brilliant.
also in jerusalem do the ultra orthodox have shopping malls that cater to their needs if so what are these malls called and where are they in jerusalem also what makes them different from the other supermarkets ie what do they sell that others dont
I am an Australian travelling on an Australian passport. I am travelling throughout the Meditterranean and the Middle East. I plan to travel by land, not air. My itinerary is to travel to Jerusalem, via Greece, Turkey, Syria and Jordan, then back again, to Lebanon to catch my plane from Beirut to depart.
I believe that I do not need a visa to enter into Jerusalem. However, will they stamp my passport at the Jordanian/Israeli border? If so, is there an alternative to avoid this? I will not be allowed to re-enter into Syria or enter into Lebanon if my passport has a stamp from entering into Israel.
hello everyone from california!
from what i understand, there is a cafe right by the Temple Mount Institute?
Can anyone give me info about it? I guess the Temple Mount Insitute is right up the stairs from the wailing wall? I was hoping to have a place where i could go and hang out while i am in that area sightseeing--anyone have info
on the type of place it is and hours, what they serve, etc.
does anyone know are there many shops in mea shearim that sell the mens traditional dress such as the coats socks breeches etc and if i tried to buy them would they sell them to me
also is there a good way to take photos at the moment i think is should just take a photo quickly then move on
I am in dire need of help ASAP. I either need a great road map of Jerusalem and the surrounding area, or the knowledge of people of live there.
I need to know how far it is from Yad Vashem from the Old City of Jerusalem. And how far it is from Yad Vashem to the Avshalom Reserve, Latrun and Abu Ghosh.
I need the distance and approximate time it would take to drive there.
Travelling there soon and need to know as soon as possible.
Thank you so much for your help.
Hello. I am going to be visiting my girlfriend in Jerusalem. She is staying in the Young Judean Youth Hostel with the Young Judea Shalem program. The only information I can find out about the location of the Young Judean Youth Hostel is that it is near Malcha or Malha (the place with the popular mall). I need to find someplace to stay for the week I am there, and the information online is not very clear as to where there is a hotel or hostel in her area. Can anybody here help me?
