Does anyone know of good and cheap places to eat in Downtown Indy. Primarily around the Convention Centre. All styles of eatery welcomed. Thanks.
Basey's Downtown Grill at 419 S. West Street is right next to the Convention Center and is a good value. On the other side of downtown (about a mile away), Aesop's Tables at 600 Massachusetts offers good, healthy fare at a good price. Bazbeaux's Pizza is very good and just a few blocks down the street at 300 Massachusetts. MacNivens at 399 Massachusetts Ave. is open late and offers good food, along with a wide selection of Scottish beer. Bistro Tchopstix offers good Asian cuisine and is closer to the Convention Center at 251 N. Illinois. India Garden Restaurant is close-by at 143 N. Illinois--it offers an extensive vegetarian cuisine along with traditional Indian fare. Bourbon Street Distillery is not far away and offers Cajun cuisine at 316 Indiana Avenue. Greek Islands Restaurant is a little farther away at 906 S. Meridian. Of course, there are several good chain restaurants, mostly around the mall which is right in the center of downtown just a few block from the Convention Center. There are also many very elegant restaurants, which cost quite a bit more than the ones I have mentioned, Ocenaire (30 South Meridian) is one example, but you indicated you wanted cheap places to eat.
