Hello! I was just yesterday at Kemil Beach, and I noticed that it was very rocky near the shoreline and about 20 feet into the water. It really hurt my feet and was a steep drop-off into the water. Of the other National Lakeshore beaches, are any of them less rocky? Porter, Dunbar, Lake View, Central, Mt. Baldy? Is the State Park any better? Do any have a more gradual entrance into the water (I'm thinking of my 65 year old mother). If you have visited recently and found a beach to be more sandy than rocky, I would love to hear from you as I'm planning a return visit soon.
I was wondering if you could get married in the State Park, On the Beach? Or Maybe Mt. Baldy?
I was wanting to bring my German Shepherd along to the Dunes. Is this a dog friendly place? Are the dunes and/or trails open to dogs?
I am coming to Indiana in thel ast week of march. Does the weather permit a walk along the beach during that time of the year? what other attractions are there apart from the beaches and camping?
