We are hoping to spend a few nights on Hamilton Island in October 2010. Does anyone know whether you get better deals booking early, or leaving it to the last minute?
Geneal rule - Booking early guarantees you a spot, but you won't get the best price.
Booking late means you may get the best price, but only if there are places available and they discount them, i.e. you may not end up going at all...
Actually saw a good deal advertised yesterday on the tv. Maybe you could call a tourist bureau and check it out. Didn't get the details but they were good prices.
Hi can get some good deals @ flight centre, also try wotif.com they normally have some good last minute bargains.depending how long you stay ,you might want to pack a couple of bottles of wine,we did and saved on the high prices of food and drink. Also ask one of the locals before you swim,as the jellyfish might be around at that time.
Not sure if you have booked anything yet but if you have not then i would call 0845 308 9232 and ask for james.
he works for thomas cook and is very good at sorting australia holidays out as he was born near australia.
and as a rule there is not really such a thing as a good deal as the flights from the uk are released for sale 11 months prior to departure and they increase in price the nearer you get to departure unlike charter flights which get cheaper.
hope this helps
