Some help and advice please. I will be travelling to Guangzhou in April to sorce products for my store. I specialize in Christmas deco. Is it a good idea to attend the Canton fair in April to find suppliers? I know there's a Christmas fair in October but that will not be enough time to get stock, hence the trip in April. Currently i stock good quality American and European stock but the exchange rate has become ridiculous. What places shouldi make a point of going to? Im planning to be there for 10 days, is that going to be enough time? Any other ardvice?
I will be in Guangzhou Feb. 9->11. I need to get 2-3 prescription eyeglasses made for my mum while I am passing though during the big holiday. It is only 4/2 and here in Malaysia glasses shops tell me it will take a week to get product. So impossible.
Bifocals apparently are the issue, they don't keep stock in this small town.
Will I be able to fulfill this order at height of CNY within 3 days?
Apparently a full week of CNY in Malaysia is like several festivals in Cambodia where the whole country shuts down commercial activity. However the rest of the year I get glasses within 2 hours or overnight at latest.
Will it be any different in Guangzhou?
I'll be visiting Guangzhou with my fiancee in December, staying at Shangxiajiu Lu. Just wondering if there are any photo studios nearby which can take us out on location and do wedding photo shots and then do an album? Do you know how much these cost?

I am planning to take one of the buses from HK international airport to Guangzhou and then then transfer to another bus to Conghua (to the main bus station in Conghua). But checking the schedules and routes below make me confused because it seems the HKIA buses stop at different hotels in Guangzhou but not at the East railway station in Guangzhou from where I think the buses to Conghua depart. Any tips on how to make a smooth transfer?

Hi I am hearing negative feedbacks on safety issues in Guangzhou China. I am planning to travel soon to meet some manufacturers at Shang Ming Building, at Qifu Road, Baiyun district, Guangzhou together with my 2 other business partners. We are all Singaporean Indians and don not speak English. We are only planning to stay for 3 days only. This is our first time travelling to China. Please share your point of view on the safety issues at Guangzhou and please advise which hotel is safe or highly recommended. Looking for your response Thank you so much Patricia

My wife and me arrive in Guangzhou on 1st Nov. from Macau and go directly to Canton Fair. We are staying 2 nights, probably at the Asia International Hotel. Our flight onwards to Beijing is at about 7.30 pm on 3rd Nov.
Can we take a bullet train from Zhuhai station near Macau? How do we reach that station from Macau?
What all can we see in Guangzhou (we should probably be free for the day on 3rd Nov., and both the evenings after the fair)? What about nightlife? How about the local transportation? are Taxis a good option or is the Metro etc. easy for English speaking persons?
Where can we shop, mainly souvenirs etc. and maybe electonics? Or will it be better to shop in Shanghai, as that is our last stop? (But we would have more time at hand in Guangzhou). Is there a lot of bargaining?
