Hi, I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with Bear Hostels, namely Olimpia hostel...
It says on their site they're a "5 star hostel" and I did find some reviews but I thought there would be more talk about it on the web if it's so great as they promote themselves on their site...
Here's the site:
And also, if someone from Moscow can actually check the hostel is actually there (LOL) for me if you're in the neighborhood as I had already made a down payment, I would appreciate it a lot (and will buy you a beer when I get to Moscow :D)... The address is on their site provided earlier in the post...
Thank you for your help...
I will be in Moscow in October for 8 days and I was already in Russia in 2005, so I have a rough idea of Visa registration and stuff like this.
Only I realised that the registration rules have changed a bit since 2005.
This time I will stay 3 days in a hotel and 5 days somewhere else, probably in a private accomodation.
I assume that my hotel will nly register me for the 3 days I stay there, or do you think there will be chances that they register me for my whole stay in Moscow (8 days), even when not staying all the time in the hotel?
If I get the registration for only these 3 days, do I then still need to get a registration for the other 5 days from my private landlord, whoever that is?
I think in theory the answer is "yes", but what problems will I be facing if I have the registration only for my first three days in Moscow?
All comments are welcome.
is this a possible daytrip?
we only have three days in moscow - less really because we have to register and then therell be all the airport stuff and transfers....
but id love to see one golden ring town
i know you cant catch a train to suzdal only to vladimir and then bus to suzdal
but what about buses to suzdal?
do they stop at vladimir?
we are staying in an apartment on arbat
where is it best to get information about daytrips to suzdal
wed prefer to do it ourselves
i can speak and read a bit - should get us through ok and id rather not get a guide unless its the only way to go- with a private tour/ driver
i guess we go to leningradsky vokzal? is there a bus terminal there?
i hear there are plenty of ways to get to suzdal once youre in moscow and that you dont have to prearrange anything
wonder how long the bus takes...might be too much to consume in one day
and how reliable are the buses on the way back?
dont want to be hitching it back to the arbat deluxe at midnight!!!!!!
I'm thinking of coming to visit Moscow next month - last there in 1979 so I guess it's changed a bit ;-)
Does anyone know anything about the Park Inn hotel at Sadu and how easy is it to get there from Domodoeveo airport?
Can someone give me the E-mail address of MoskvaReka-Travel Agency??
I understand they are a reputable and licensed Travel Agents.
I need to get in touch with them but don't have their E-mail address.
Thank you a lot
At the end of our packaged tour we will have one full day to ourselves, as the flight leaves from DME at 21:30 hours. I believe it would be best to take the Aeroexpress? Or not? We have two questions:
1. Is there a left luggage facility at Paveletsky railway station, where we could leave our bags in the morning after checking out of the hotel, and then return in the evening after some sightseeing, to catch the Aeroexpress?
2. How far is it from the Renaissance Hotel to Paveletsky railway station, and what is the best way to get there? The hotel has a free shuttle to Pushkin Square, would that help?
I'm would like to suprise a friend by meeting her at Coffee Mania ( the one next to the consevatory )and I think I can get to paveletsky voksal from DME airport ...can anyone help with the following.

Traveling to Moscow and SPB in less than 2 weeks. Arriving at Domodedovo, but haven't seen much discussionn on getting to the city center from there (if it already exists a search didn't bring it up). I had read in another forum where DME had access to the train or metro, is that advisable? I have basic ability with crylic, learning phrases and words as I type.
Thanks in advance.
