I am going to work in Bishkek the whole month of June. What is the weather like? Is it blistering hot or do I need a jacket? With draconian restrictions on baggage, what do I absolutely need to take and what can I buy there?
Any info is appreciated.
Without knowing where you're from, it's hard to give an answer. How hot is hot? How cold is cold? If you're from Libya, then, yes, Bishkek will seem quite cold even in June. But if you're from Greenland, then Bishkek will be a summer paradise.
In terms of statistics, it could be as hot as 30C and as low as maybe 13C. Another factor is there is very rarely heating in a house. And most heating is centrally controlled by the city via hot water radiators. They turn off the rads according to dates, not temperature. Furthermore, they turn off hot water for showers for several weeks as they check all the lines. This usually happens in April/May, but keep in mind, if it is cold, it could be tough to get warm!
