My sister has to travel from Montevideo, UY to Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul. Does anybody know how if there are buses that connect the two destinations. It wouldn't be the problem to change buses somewhere along the way but so far we have not even been able to find any bus company that links the border towns with Santa Maria so we would be very grateful for your help.
So, I've been planning to go to Brazil sometime in February (after the Carnival). After a few days in Rio, I want to travel south to Porto Alegre and then through some towns like Garibaldi, Gramado, Bento Gonçalves (before going to the Iguaçu Falls). I was wondering if any of you have been there and could give me some ideas on what there is to see and do. I have to mention I will meet someone there (who could easily guide me around) but I can't reach that person for now and I would appreciate an answer sooner. :)
Thank you very much in advance!

Thanks a lot for your replies folks.
I recently watched the mini-novela Casa de Siete Mujeres on Telemundo in the United States. I would like to know if there are any tour companies that offer tours to Estado do Rio Grande do Sol that go to places that were depicted in the novela. The outdoor locations were absolutely breathtaking. And, I now have an interest in Brazilian history and would like to visit some of the historical locations in the novela. Any help on this would be appreciated. Additionally, I would like to visit a couple of cattle ranches.
I am a BSN nurse currently taking classes for Nurse Practioner. I am looking to work internationally and this looks like a nice place. What are the chances of employment down there, hopefully with an American Company so the pay is in US dollars? You may reply at [email].
I am going to be staying in one of these states in Brazil, Parana, Santa Catalina or Rio Grande do Sul. I am wondering if there are any universities/colleges in any of these states. Thanks in advance
I am planning to stay three months in Porto Alegre. Is US25 sufficient for accomodation and food. If not, how much is needed to have a reasonable time there. What are the long term cheaper accomodation choices available there? Thanks in advance.
