Taking a day trip to meet friends and wondering what is the safest and cheapest way to travel from Punta Mita to Guayabitos? Any travel tips? Thanks very much.
Several years ago, I took about a 1 to 2 hour taxi ride out of San Blas (an hour north of Puerto Vallarta), to a small Huichol village, that was on a round island, and was presumably patterned after Tenochtitlan. The streets were laid out in a circular pattern. It was accessible only by boat. I assumed it was generally north of San Blas, but I can't locate it now.
I am planning a trip to Paradise Village in September. I believe this resort is safe but one has to get there from the airport and then travel outside the gates for groceries, etc. I read that one needs to be sure the taxi you are riding in is legit. I recently saw the photos of the dead (skinned men)in Tepic (an hour from NV) and was mortified. I know the killings were drug related but the violence seems to be extraordinarily brutal and may, in the future, know no boundaries. Also, I am buying a condo on El Tigre Golf Course (Sensara) and I am concerned about the long term safety. In addition I believe the developer is out of money. Does anyone know the status? I am considering cancelling my contract with them and travel to Nuevo Vallarta Paradise Village using my points for all future travel.

I am trying to remember the name of a beautiful beach maybe 30 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta. It is very near the road before Punta Mita and there is a small free parking area. It is very common with local families (few tourists) and crowded on the weekends, the sunset is beautiful. According to a map it is near Las Cargadas. Attached are links to a Nayarit map with an arrow pointing to the beach and another with an actual picture of the beach.
I was planning a vacation to San Pancho and would like to go Deep Sea Fishing does anyone have recommendations
I was in a Nayarit restaurant in Chicago and saw GREAT posters that looked like they were from a travel agency. Does anyone know where I can find posters of Nayarit?? If you know PLEASE email me at:
I will travel to Tepic next June. I would like to know if I can rent a car there? I couldn't make a reservation on-line, I tried in dollar, budget & hertz.
Just how bad are the jejenes in January on the beaches of Nayarit? Does DEET work well against them?
I'm staying in San Pancho and Punta Mita in January. My daughter (who has surfed before) and I (with no surfing history) want to try surfing at either or both places. What is the surf like there in January? Is it good for a beginner? What beaches in the area are the best for beginning surfers? You don't need a wetsuit in January, do you?
I'll be in Nayarit in January, and wondered if the Toltec ruins in Ixtlan del Rio are worth visiting? (I enjoy ruins in general - I thought Chichen Itza was fascinating). I'll be staying on the coast. What is the driving time between San Pancho and Ixtlan del Rio?
Can anyone give me information on schools that teach English in Nayarit? Naames - emails - contact names - telephone numbers?
