We have recently visited PV, staying at the Tropicana Hotel. We loved it! Sadly, however, they refused to accomodate my husband's service dog. I am assuming that in Mexico there is no guaranteed access to disabled people/service dogs? Or is it just this hotel? I would appreciate any input, as we are keen to vacation there again, but do not enjoy traveling without the dog. Thanks!
I want to stay for 2 or 3 months (from June) in a small, rural town close to Guadalajara. (By close I mean not more than a 45 minute drive from the airport).
My aim is to work on my Spanish. Ajijic is the obvious choice, but I want to be forced to speak Spanish so I'd like to be in a less gringo area.
Any recommendations? Is all of Lago Colima very touristy, or are there towns (such as Colima itself or Octotlan) that have fewer English speakers?
I won't have transport, so I'd like to be in a town that is large enough to have a small supermarket (etc).
Is it safe to drive from Ajijic to Manzanillo during the day?
Going there in December.
My friend and I are making a long weekend visit to Guadalajara and would welcome suggestions of places to visit, things to do and places to eat. We are staying at the Hotel Morales.
In September, I'm bringing nine 7th and 8th graders to the Mayto Turtle camp just south of Vallarta. The people who are in charge of making the arrangements are not very forthcoming in regard to certain details. Although, I have no say in the arrangements, I'm the one chaperoning and translating. We are supposed to sleep on the beach in tents they provide yet they say to bring our own sleeping bags and snorkel equipment. I think it should be provided. Has anyone had experience with this turtle camp? I'm familiar with Vallarta and the area but not this place. I want my kids to have a great and memorable trip. Any ideas, suggestions or comments? I'm all ears.
