looking for a natural health outlet /alternative medicines, etc...south side of town, between Estero beach road and Baha country club off Revolution
Hi, my husband and I are going to Ensenada for a long weekend (June 20-22). We are travelling from San Diego, CA. Is there any transfer/shuttle service that could take us from Tijuana to our hotel in Ensenada?
I know there are nice ABC buses that run the route but it's my husband's birthday and I wanted to organize a perfectly smooth trip for him. With the buses we would have to take a cab from the station in Ensenada to our hotel, besides the bus is probably not going to go the fastest way.
And another transportation question: we really want to go to a couple of wineries in Valle de Guadalupe and visit Deckman's restaurant in El Mogor winery for a celebratory lunch/dinner on Sunday June 22nd. Can we take a cab from Ensenada to El Mogor and other wineries, how much would that be and what cab company will agree to take us there? Are there any shuttle services? Or will we have to book a tour that will take us to wineries? I checked out a couple of companies and they all want crazy money for their tours. We don't need guided tours, we just want to go to nice places and that one restaurant.
We have a corporate car that doesn't allow us to go abroad, so we have to think of other ways. We are totally fine with using public transportation, if that's the best way to travel. I just want to figure out our options.
Thanks a lot in advance!
My husband and I want to drive down and spend Saturday and Sunday in either Ensenada or Rosarito. I speak Spanish fluently and we have updated passports. We would like to stay somewhere with our niece and our two small children. Is there anything we really need to know? Is the route safe now that the road has collapsed? Hotel recommendations?
Is Ensenada in Baja the right place to spot Orcas that live there permanently?
As I really want to see them, therefore need to find the right spot!
should we visit mexicali or algodones. just want to
walk across and sightsee and shop
We are rving down the baja and are avid fisherman we brought a very small boat with us and was wondering if anyone could tell us the best locations to be sure to catch fish either from our small boat or from shore also the best fishing tackle to use.
Thanks so much
I will be going to Baja in June. What is the current price for gasoline (regular unleaded) per liter? Thanks.
okay i need help: im 20 and im going to go to rosarito with about 7 other people...im wondering how much are hotels and which one is in the middle of everything...i have no idea where to get exact directions from Los Angeles to rasarito because i am scared to get lost...pleasde help thank you
There used to be a very good site called "Amigos de Baja". The first page of the site still exists, but when I click on anything I end up on a page that has nothing to do with the actual "Amigos de Baja" site. The page you get to is an advertisement. Its as though the Amigos de Baja site has been hijacked by some advertiser. Does anybody know what is going on? Has the Amigos de Baja site been funcioning correctly until recently? Maybe it is only a temporary foul-up.
I'll be in Ensenada, staying near La Bufadora, over Thanksgiving weekend. Any tips to find a place to watch American college football games? A sports bar with satellite TV that caters to Americans?
I'm planning on going to San Diego and Tijuana in early September, and would like to stay in Rosarito a couple of nights. Can anyone tell me what it's like, compared to Tijuana. I also am looking for an economical hotel/motel near the water.
Also, is the surfing decent there, and is there surfboard rentals?
My husband and I are looking into the possibibky to coming over to the Baja sometime soonish. We are, as always, very low on money.
We expect to be camping much if the time and would like to hire a motorbike.
Does anyone know any good cheap places and also how much we could expect to spend on two weeks bike hire?
Is there an off season when things will be cheaper and if there is when is it? And what should we expect the weather to be like in said season?
Many thanks in advance,
I'm planning to spend 10 days driving down/up Baja from Los Angeles. What's the best route and places I shouldn't miss in the short time I have there?
I went to Mexico in 1997 where I travelled the Yucatin peninsular, staying in beautiful cabanas on the beach, ie, Tulum.
Is there similar non-expensive but clean cabanas in Baja north and south?
My girlfirend and I are planning a 3 week trip to Mexico at the start of April. We will be flying into Mexico city from Dublin, Ireland.
We are going to spend time in Baja California but not just to sit on the beach for 3 weeks. We enjoy nice, quiet, laid back beaches (and people!), looking at wildlife, good food and discovering the local culture. Can anyone suggest some possible destinations and maybe an itenerary that might fit in with what we like to do?
For instance, would the South or North of the baja suit us better? Whats the cheapest flight to get there from Mexico City? Whats the weather like at that time and will we need to pre-book budget accomodation in advance.
Thanks a billion!
is there a way to get from Tijuana to Ensenada via bus? Any info would be great. There would be three of us, one male, and I am fluent in Spanish. THanks!
In January we will be driving from Tijuana to La Paz. Can anyone give us the names of clean, comfortable but modest accommodations to use as we drive, possibly at Guerro Negro and Loreto?
We expect to drive through Baja California in January and would like to do some tenting but have little idea about the tenting facilities there. We would prefer not to tent in RV parks, however, I understand that in some RV parks there are RVs available for rent. That might be a nice option.
Any info and/or tips will be useful. Thanks.
I have about 3 to 4 days to spend in Baja California. I read that it takes quite some time to drive all the way south to Los Cabos so we'd prefer to visit towns in the upper half of the state. What are the more scenic and interesting towns to see after crossing the border? Appreciate all suggestions!
We have found that in Rosarito Beach there is a big rip-off in the making against American people. The new development named La Jolla del Mar at Km. 30 Higway to Ensenada in what is known as Playa Encantada, the group of Desarrolladora de las Californias S.A. de C.V. Eduardo Chabert, Hugo Torres Chabert and Marcela Brunet with offices at Oceana Shopping mall [email] tel: 1866 323 3969 are committing a clear fraud against the prospect customers, mainly American people. The property where they are supposedly building the tower is at this moment subject to a Federal trial Exp. 1057/96 at the Juez Séptimo de distrito (7th federal court in Tijuana) where the owner of that property is Mr. Tomas Corona Rodriguez and he is asking to be returned to his property and at that trial he have demonstrated that he is the rightful owner of the property because he bought the property from the Federal Government, that trial is in the final phases and is similar to the one of Castillos del Mar, trial that already have a ruling by the supreme court if favor of Mr. Corona. In a very short period the court is going to order the return of the property to the rightful owner and the only losers are going to be the people who pay those crooks; the trial have been delayed by the group who is trying to commit the fraud to be able to sell but according to all legal opinions, it is inevitable that the property will be returned to Mr. Tomas Corona in a few months. For more information email to [email] or call Mr. Juan Ernesto Corona at the Corona Hotel in Rosarito at : 011(52 661)612 4201 or at 619 990 9175 or at 011(52 664)628 4284 for English speaking attention or email at [email].
I found the following at ... Have any VT wine tasters attended one of these annual Grape Harvest Festivals known as Fiestas de la Vendimia (this year it is from August 6-22)? If so, would you recommend it? I'm not much into wine, but the other activities sound interesting. The 17-day festival, with events in the vineyards and wineries of San Antonio de las Minas, Valle de Guadalupe and Valle de Calafia as well as central Ensenada, Tijuana, Rosarito Beach and Mexicali, presents excellent opportunities to become acquainted with the many Baja wines which are experiencing new heights of international acclaim. The celebration includes gourmet and country-style dinners, concerts of jazz, classical and traditional Mexican music, a street fair, winery tours, a paella contest, wine seminars, a fishing tournament, kayak race and, of course, plenty of wine tasting, lots of regional food specialties, and loads of entertainment. Any suggestions of where to go to find a small place on the beach - we would like a kitchen - where we will not be with lots of American tourists and wild partiers? We would like to shop at a local market, speak spanish, and get 'off the beaten path'. Seems that most vacation rentals are in Ensenada, Tijuana, and Rosario, but I don't think that's where we want to go.
Hi all I'm flying into San Diego 17th December and am pondering over the best way to get down to La Paz, no great hurry but want to be there before Christmas!! Look at bus.. what do you think? any recomendations? Thought about hiring a small camper but that could be expensive/difficult? I don't want to fly as we would like to see a bit of Baja whilst travelling down.. Appreciate any thoughts and ideas Cheers Simon
Hi I'll be in San Diego from 29/04-15/05. I heard that it is easily accessible to Mexico, but I certainly don't want to just pop across to Tijuana only. Could anyone kindly advice if there are any nice places to stay for a few nights which would be accessible maybe within 5 hours from San Diego by either bus or train? I like to see a beautiful sea, lake ,,, anything clean water! Thank you! Mo
How warm is it in January? How far south do I have to go to get to get-in-the-water-warm? What places on the coast do you suggest for a first time visitor? Thanks!
A couple of friends and I are staying at the Las Rocas Resort&Spa...has anyone been here? What is it like? Also, could anyone give me some information about the local activities and nightlife? Thanks! Cdnchic :)
