Just retired a few years ago and now my wife and I are starting to travel. We have booked a condo for the month of February.
I know it is very popular for all water sports but what activities should we look into?
Would like to take a few items for people who live there that make our stay enjoyable. What to bring?
We live in Canada, what should we bring that is difficult to get there?
Does anyone have a review/opinion after their stay at Casa De Campo? Looks great.
We may go for a few days at the end of June.

Hello fellow travelers!
I read somewhere that jet skiis are not allowed in Punta Cana due to safety. Is this true? If so, is there somewhere else in D.R. that you can recommend that allows jet skis?
do i need an adapter in the dominican republic for my phone charger, coffee pot, hair dryer? i'm from california... thanks ! it says online the electricity is the same as the US, is this correct?
Hi! I am going on a mission trip to the Dominican in a few days. I read on the Visa website that you can bring the Dominican Peso into the country, but you cannot take it back to the U.S. Is this still true?
I see that the restaurants say no flip flops - does this mean that open toed shoes need a strap on the back?
Can ladies wear sleeves top/dresses, is the ' no sleeveless' just for men?
We have been to resorts that are very strict on policy and some that are not - so just checking.
I've been trying to find a waterfall that the locals go to. I have my own car. Wanting to see some natural sires.
I will be staying in the Dominican Republic for 3 weeks with my wife and son, and am looking for a place where the beach (the prettier the better) is quiet, yet there are still plenty of good-quality establishments nearby for eating and lounging around. Good snorkeling nearby would be nice too.
Thank you for any suggestions!
My son has the opportunity to go work with a small group for 3 months in a Dominican Republic National Park area. He works with Range land management here in the US and would be out in the back country 4-5 days/wk then back in town for a few days then out again. Is it safe in small numbers out in the back country?
are they any?? shark attack?? snakes??
My first visit to the DR . Which resort would be most recommended ??
Would love advice.
Would like to know some opinions on where to stay in the Dominican? Looking for a safe place.

Hello dear friends!
We are currently planning to make our 1st trip to this marvellous place of the Caribbean- Dominican Republic, but we are not sure where to start from. I have contacted a couple of friends, but none of those have ever been to this particular destination..
Anyone of you could possibly have travelled there and could advise me how to make the 1st steps -I would be extremely grateful for any information!
Thank you in advance!
does any know of a budget 1 bedroom apartment in these areas. doesn't have to be right on the beach, but should be close enough to markets, bank, medical, etc. we are retired and want to spend 5 months down there. Budget should be around 400-500 per month.
thanks in advance for any help.
If I stay at Sanctuary Cap Cana is it near the nightlife in town or other hotels?
I'm trying to decide where in DR to go for a 3 night getaway, just me and my husband, in November. I'm considering samana or cabarete. I like the adults-only Bahia resort in samana, cayo levantado. I prefer to go where i will see no kids (i have two), but in an all-inclusive, i'm afraid of missing out on all the local foods and fun night life. My husband would certainly appreciate a more Dominican feel to his vacation days then myself, but I don't mind it. Do you think i'll find better options in cabarete? or should i do a non-all inclusive in samana?
Has anyone received an early morning phone call from their Delta Vacations destination expert (in my case, it was TraficTours)? I was awakened by a 7:45 AM phone call on my first full day at Punta Cana. The representative said that I had to show up at for an 8:30 AM meeting. I had talked to a lot of Delta Vacations people but no one told me that I had to attend any meeting. Is this a common practice? Did I really have to show?
I want to visit DR for a few months. Although, I do not want to return back to the USA from there. I want to bounce to another country afterwards, although I haven't figured out where I wanna go. I wanna figure that out towards the end of departing from the DR. How would I go about this...? (Since I heard you can't enter the DR with a one way ticket)
I have read all the travel pages from VTers on the all-inclusive resort on the northern coast of the Dominican
Republic. Most sound fantastic , with the occasional traveler who complains about everything.
Another VT friend and I will be there for 6 nights during June. Any more ideas, comments, suggestions for
fun in the sun while there? I notice that Kaspian has been there, and I emailed him for ideas, but he has
not replied. This is my first time at an all-inclusive. I anticipate an easy vacation......yes?
I am looking to travel to the dominican republic i was wondering 1 how safe it is to travel there and 2 is it expensive country to visit
Does Caribe Tours still run this route? Their webpage says "non disponible".
I'd like to travel the first week of May. Has anyone done it recently?
Does anyone have an email or direct contact to them? Im trying to plan a very large event and would like to host it at this hotel. I would greatly appreciate it.
Also, if I sell out Lifestyles and Confresi is there other hotels really close that could possibly do shuttle for the conference?
Which is better---Riu Palace Macao or Catalonia Royal?
I am travelling to the d.r. for 38 days. Can I purchase an online tourist card in advance for this?
where is the best place to stay in Punta Cana? We want a really nice reputable hotel with decent food and nice rooms?
My wife is allergic to flour & sugar & we usually bring along our own food with us when traveling. I know that we probably cant bring in fruits & vegetables with us. But what about processed frozen meals
