We are looking for information on flights from Djibouti to Asmara. How often do flights leave, what airlines operate these flights and what do they cost.
there are currently no direct flights between the two countries due to unrest between the countries.
you will need to fly via yemen as it is right now, but that is very doable.
i have a friend who took that flight a couple of months ago.
Getting into Eritrea from its neighbors seems to be harder every passing year. You can fly there from New York, but not anywhere close. Their own airlines website is shut down and the domain up for sale. Don't think about a land crossing unless you have the proper visas. They have an autocratice government and their rules can change overnight.
A real shame. As Claus says, Yemenia (not a great safety record) do fly there.
Thanks- have booked my trip to ethiopia and a connection to Yemen to fly to Asmara with Yemenia Airlines. It is a little problematic, because It means I have to fly back to Yemen AND back to Ethiopia to resume my travels in that country. The only good thing about it is the fact that the flights are very short, and it means I don't have to enter Djibouti.
Have a great time!
