Is there an online source for information on cultural events such as theater, music, dance, etc. in Cuenca? We'll be visiting there June 10-18 and hope to soak up some culture. We're more interested in live events than in museums, sights, etc. I've found a calendar or two but they only show club meetings and such. Thanks! -- Jerry and Cindy
What is cheapest air fare from Quito to United States
Why are flights from Ecuador to San Jose CR so expensive?
We are going to be in Cuenca for 8 days. We would like to spend a day or 2 in Quito or Manta. Is flying or buses our best options? We read that we might get better airline deals once we get to Cuenca, is this true? We are coming just to see if this is an area we would like to retire in.
We are coming the end of march and staying 8 days. While these spots are great, is there a good way to get to Quito for a day trip.
How do I reserve 4 tickets for this trip? Where do I board the bus? Departure times? Price? Thanks. Elgin
Hi I'm in cuenca and I need a place to dry cleaning and ironing, I have spoken of planchame, below the hotel Vieja Mansion, but not where to be found ... can you help me??
Where is a schedule in english, if possible, to book a trip while we are still in the states?
Is it better to wait until we are in Guayaquil to just get a trip booked, to Cuenca and then back to Guayaquil?
Our goal from Cuenca is really to go to Manta.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
I am go to be visiting in Cuenca during the period from Mid-November to Mid-December 2011. I would appreciate hearing from members who live in the city as to interesting things to do during that period ... plesant places to have "adult beverages" and good food. ^^ The primary reason for my stay in Cuenca is to study Spanish, and my secondary reason is to have a wonderful time.
Assistance will be appreciated.

Does anyone know if I am correct about a retirement visa needing documented proof of income of at least800 per month and100 for dependants? My husband and I are working on a way to retire there but would not have a pension, just an income which could be documented. Any advice will be great.
Im flying into guyaquil and would like to bus to cuenca. The only thing is that I'll have a backpacking backpack full of stuff (I'll be living in Cuenca for 7months). Also, my Spanish is beginning to low intermediate. I'm asking this because I've heard that the buses there can be sketchy.
Do you think it's safe to take the bus ride or should I get a plane? Thanks
Just writing to see if anyone knows about flights from Quito or Guayaquil to Cuenca, Ecuador. I will be flying from the U.S. and I´m having a hard time finding a flight that goes past Quito or Guayaquil. Do you have to purchase another ticket to cuenca ( or any other location within ecuador) apart from the international ticket from the U.S. to ecuador ? thanks for the help.
Next month (September), I'll be in Cuenca for 2 weeks taking Spanish lessons. During that time, I'd like to meet up with a native Spanish speaker who's interested in a language exchange to improve each other's conversational skills. I don't care if the person is male or female, old or young (but not too young). His or her English skills can be at a beginner level. I'm from Seattle and English (American) is my first language.
I know about the Abraham Lincoln Center and Si Centro which teaches English to Ecuadorians. However, from what I've gathered, most of their English students are young children. I prefer someone a little older.
If anyone knows anyone in Cuenca or a place or Internet site where I can find someone who would like to do a language exchange, please let me know.
