I'm going to Castiglioncello tomorrow for the day and was wondering if I will be able to use the beaches as I am not staying at a hotel or have made any bookings.
Would Castiglioncello be a good day from from Florence? If so, what sorts of activities would you recommend doing during the day?
I am a big fan of the water, would there be enough time to see the village and go snorkelling?

I'm thinking of spending a couple days in Castiglioncello from Florence and then going straight to Bologna after. Are there any reliable trains or buses to get me to and from these cities - or is it better to drive? I'd be going in late September so hopefully parking wouldn't be as bad?
