Apologies for this being not a travel-related question as such, but I couldn't think of a better place to ask. I am thinking of taking a job in Bray, Co. Wicklow.
Is Bray an expensive place to rent a flat? How about the crime rate? Any other places I could consider living within a reasonable commute (30 mins max) of Bray? How about Dun Laoghaire ? South Dublin ?
Also, what about public transport into/around Dublin ?
Thanks in advance
I haven't lived out there, but visited Bray and Greystones for a few weeks last year. The Dublin DART travels down to the Bray train station almost hourly. So you could go to the DART website to see the stops and use that to consider your options. Bray is beautiful, and the beachfront is a lively locals hangout for wandering, walking the dog, etc. I loved the area myself, as long as you can afford it, I think you've made a great choice :)
I don't know how much a rental is in Bray, but if you email me, I can write a friend who lives out there and forward your contact info.
Take care, and good luck!
The DART is not hourly during the week it is at 15-20 min intervals. Any place on the DART line would be handy. The 45 bus to Dublin takes about 45mins to an hour. Bray is practically South Dublin in terms of accomo, with the way the city is expanding, it even has the 01 area code, not the wicklow one!!
Thanks for the timetable correction - I appreciate it. Kymba
Have just been looking myself. Have researched the route to death. Bray = accessable from Dun Laoghaire (D.L.) Dart every 15-20 mins > metro type train)have just done this twice this week on way to interviews or................ (20 min drive on N11)
