Bratislava

One or two days in Bratislava

Hello everyone

My girlfriend and I are doing a trip in Eastern Europe this summer (August), and we're going to Bratislava on our way from Wien to Belgrade.

We still hesitate between spending one or two days there, since we do not know if there's much to do.

Since it's not a very touristic city (yet?) we don't find much information about what to do, where to go etc.

Do you have any suggestions that would help us decide how long we should stay?

Thank you very much, Romain

Hello Romain, two days in Bratislava will be just enough. I am sharing this web site, you should be able to find some places worth spending your time: bratislava.cdfoto.net/top10b...

Bratislava is a very pleasant city but you are right about it being small and, perhaps, only needing a day or so to explore.

My Bratislave pages have things to see & do:

and off-the-beaten-path things to see & do:

If you decide to spend two full days in Bratislava I suggest you spend most of the second day visiting (by train) either Trnava, which I found an interesting and very pleasant town:

or the spa town of Piest'any, with its sulphurous waters, super cafes and lovely parkland:

Both are easy, direct (no change) train trips from Bratislava. You can find train times and details in English on the official Slovak railway website;

Fares are very reasonable indeed (no need to buy tickets online in advance...just buy them at Bratislava's Hlavna Stanica...the main station) and, of course, travelling by train is safe.
