Driving with a friends car from Johannesburg to Botswana

Myself and my husband are borrowing a friends car to drive from Johannesburg into Botswana. Firstly, does anyone know what additional papers we need if it is not our car?

Secoundly, we only have a week and don't want to kill ourselves driving. Can anyone recommend where to go and stay. We are on a budget.

Lastly, when coming back into south Africa, when they stamp your passport, how long do you get?

Your answers will be greatly appreciated.

Ok,

First you are going to need the owners documents. More here:

gov.bw/Visitors/Topics/Entry...

You need to have the paperwork ready. Just imagine their position. You have no rental agreement and the owner is not in the car. You can ring their offices in Botswana or your local Botswana Embassy - they speak English.

As for your passport... what passports do you have?

And you can drive Bots in a week at a reasonable pace.

All the best,

DAO
