Bordeaux

Crossing the Gironde River

Hello all wine lovers;

I will be north of Bordeaux end of July, in the wine district around Pauilliac - after that, I plan to stay near La Rochelle. Question I have is - are there bridges I can cross the Gironde river with my car ( or else a ferry ride ) without having to drive back to Bordeaux, and drive all the way up again to La Rochelle ?

Many thanks for your advice to save my time on the road ,

Regards,

Nikita-the-cat

I think there's a ferry at Port Lamarque just south of where you are staying. Perhaps someone else will confirm (or deny) this. You could also Google the Port Lamarque web site.
