Baltimore

Baltimore Waterfront to DC via Public Transportation

I will be in Baltimore for a conference in June staying on the waterfront at the Baltimore Marriot Waterfront. While in the area I would like to go to the Nations Capital for a visit. This would be on a Monday. Could someone let me know the best way or ideas on how to do this without renting a car. Also what other things are there to do in Baltimore within walking distance to the Waterfront area.

You can take the MARC (commuter) train to Washington Union Station, if you're traveling on a Monday. From the waterfront area, go the station at Howard and Conway Sts. and take the Camden Line MARC train southbound from there.

See mtamaryland.com/services/mar...

Be aware that this train is designed for commuters, not tourists. There are frequent trains in the early morning and late afternoon/evening, but only one or two in the middle of the day. If you are traveling outside rush hour, you can take Amtrak (from Baltimore Penn Station, www.amtrak.com) or the bus (www.greyhound.com).
