Hi!I will be traveling with my husband and child in june to Balchik. Can you please tell me how is the trip from Vama Veche to Balchik? There are any kind of problems with the bulgarian police, are there any radars on the road and foremost how is the road condition - good or bad? Can you also tell me what is the price for the vignette in Bulgaria? Thanks!
I make the rute from vama vech to varna at 2009.
Balchik is on mid way between the two places.
as i remember the trip was fine, i been at varna after 1.5 hours
that mean at Balchik area i was around 50-60 minute.
there is no problem with the bulgarian police, even if there is
radars on the road it is not need to concern you because you supposed
to drive by the local low ( - :
the road condition as i remember was fine, not perfect i think was just one
path for each direction.
by the way i make it as hitchhiker ( - :
thanks a lot
And the price of the weekly vignette is 10 Bulgarian leva, which makes slightly over 5 euro. A monthly vignette costs 25 leva on the other hand.
If you have some time, stop at Kaliakra Cape to enjoy the promontory and the ruins of the medieval fortress there.
I also made that route in 2009.The road is fine but just after the border is very bad(I hope they have made it). I also recommend to stop at Kaliakra Cape and probably Kamen briag(rocks and sea). You don't have to worry about police or anything. That part of the country is not very crowded but is very beautiful.
Have a nice trip.
thank you very much your answers were really helpfull
