All the fieldtickets sold out so quickly in Holland that we decided to take a short holiday to Athens, to see the concert in Terra Vibe. We probably arrive on the evening of the concert at around 18:00 at our hotel, and we have to get to the Terra Vibe park (concert starts at 21:30). Preferable by bus, but we're not sure if it fits in the timetable of getting there in time? And if we should buy tickets up front (from who, where?).
Anyone able to help out here?
Hello; are there any places in Athens or near Athens flea markets and also garage sale.... etc? Especially How these things going on in there could someone explain? Thanks :)

My husband and I will be heading to Greece this November, and we are hoping to rent a car for a few days so we can do a Meteora-Delphi trip from Athens... does anyone have recommendations for rental companies they've had good experience with in Athens? Is it better to book something online now, or wait until we're there since it's the off-season? Any advice is appreciated! :)
Me again... We have a free day in Athens, and was thinking about renting a car from the airport for about 12 hours... Problem is, we only have a visa debit card... Not credit card.
Does anyone know of any rental agencies at the airport that accepts Debit?
Thanks in advance.
I know that you can use uber in Athens, but I was wondering if anyone has done so, and how was the experience? I know that they use taxis instead of personal vehicles, so I'm hoping uber works like it normally does in the US, where you only pay on your phone and don't have to deal with cash.
Thanks in advance!
Can someone recommend a hotel in a good location in Athens for late September. I am traveling along and don't mind rustic - in that I prefer not in an American style Holiday Inn. Is it possible for less than $100 CDN per night?
I'm heading to Greece this November and starting to plan out our itinerary. We are thinking about 7 days Athens (+ some daytrips from Athens) and 4 days Santorini. Planned daytrips so far are Aegina, Corinth & Delphi. So far Aegina seems totally doable as a half-day, Delphi a little far but doable as a full-day, and Corinth a reasonable half-day. With a little Google Maps research, however, I see that Nafplio/Nafplion is only about another hour west of Corinth.
From what I've been reading, people suggest two days for Nafplio, but what I'm wondering is if it's possible to do a day trip to Corinth in the morning and Nafplio in the afternoon (or vice versa)? I don't really have set plans for what I want to do in Nafplio--just wander around and see the town and maybe the fortress. Is that doable? If so, what are my public transportation options between Corinth and Nafplio? How about hiring a car/taxi for the full day?
Thanks in advance for any help! :)
I'll be heading to Athens and Santorini in September, and I'm wondering:
What are the best tours that re easy on the wallet?
Are there any useful tips (such as sights to see, etc.) That u should know?
Thanks a bunch in advance!
I am planning a Greece Trip. I am planning to visit Athens, Santorini and Rhodes each for 2 days. I will pass from Athens to Santorini. Which way is better? ferry or plane? If I take the plane, I will be arriving Santorini at 1 in the morning. Anybody can advise me about the transportation at that time? Can you also please suggest me a reliable website for ferry bookings?
Thanks in advance
Fellow Travelers, Hi!
I will be returning to Athens in early July. I've been there several times and love it. Now that I've crossed most of the ancient history places off my list, I'd be happy to find a couple of pleasant walks around nice areas.
I guess I'm simply looking for nice, not touristic, parts of the city to walk around, sit down, read a book, drink coffee, maybe talk to people, watch life go by. A garden would be fantastic.
I get around by metro, buses, trams (no car). I'll be based near Larissis station, makes it easy to get to pretty much anywhere.
Ephkaristo para poli !
Is it safe to travel right now with the violent protests going on? and what is the deal with the debt crisis, is there still an atm limit on withdrawals? i just want to know if ill be safe or encounter any kinds of issues.
I have a very long flight connection on a summer sunday (july, 10th) and wish to do some shopping (Mall). Although most information says that Shopping Mall stores are closed on sunday, most of the info is some 8 years old. Due to economical issues, many Malls were still open on sundays in Lisbon an Madrid. I wish to know if Athens has any Mall with stores open on sunday ? I know that Plaka and Monastiraki are running on sunday.
Thanks in advance,
My girlfriend and I are going to Greece from may the 26th to the 30th.
We were thinking of staying in Athens for the first two days and going on an island not too far for the remaining two.
Therefore: what neighborhood would you recommend in Athens? We heard about Plaka.
Also, what island would you recommend? We heard about Aegina, Hydra and Poros.
Thank you very much for your help.
is it possible to stay near the beach in Athens but still be near enough to visit the usual tourist sights, won't have a car so will need to use public transport .
Is it possible to go to the aiport by suburban train with 3-days tourist ticket? Or is it valid only using metro?
Hi guys. I'm bringing US appliances to Greece. Do Greek wall outlets take a plug with 2 round pins that are rounded off at the end? Is it the same as used in France? Are the wall outlets, in Greece, "deep dish" or recessed as the ones in France? Or flush with the wall? Efkaristo and merci beau coup?
Can someone tell me where have many Komboloi i can choose, and what's regular price of komboloi? Thanks
I'm ending a cruise in Athens next August 2016 and am planning to stay four or five days there afterwards. My initial impression is that the tourist attractions in Athens are few. What are the must see tourist attractions? I like to stay at hotels that are centrally located. Is there a city center per se in Athens that would be the best location? Alternatively, I wouldn't mind staying in a resort type of environment. Any recommendations for that? Or would it make sense to jump on a boat to one of the islands? This will be for my wedding anniversary so something nice is preferred. I'm not too concerned about cost. My wife and I like culture and hiking.
Has anyone stayed in this area? Or recommend an out of the way, off the beaten path hotel or B&B? We'll be there in the middle of January. Thanks!
can i find night club every night in Athens in the month of Nov ? and at witch place exactly in Athens? and where can find easy ladys company to enjoy ,i will come from Crete , on 24 Nov ,thanks in advance
Can you tell me of any village festivals (Panagery) in Peloponnesos during June or July
I was born & raised in Kiato, Korinthos, but my family migrated to the USA 60 years ago, when I was 12 years old.
I am planing to visit my home village and bring my family to see where I grew up. One of the most fond memories I have of my childhood was attending the village festivals and holidays. I would like to know what festivals are scheduled for June & July in the Korinth area.
We will be traveling to Santorini Greece in July, 2016. I've been doing a lot of reading on using the bus system vs. renting a car and would like some guidance. I hear the buses are at full capacity during this very high tourist season, but I also hear that finding parking can be very difficult. We want to see many of the usual sights in Santorini including the beaches, ancient sights, old churches, etc. What do you suggest for transportation while we're there? If anyone recommends a rental car, do you have any tips for how to find parking at the various destinations? When we traveled to Italy, I found that we could reserve and pay ahead for parking in their parking garages in Rome where available parking is very rare. Thanks for your help!
Although I see someone who asked about making a connecting flight within the two hours they have between flights, I am asking if it is possible to make a connection if coming in to Athens on an international flight arriving 9:05 AM and taking the 10:15 AM flight on Aegean Airlines to Santorini. We will be traveling mid July 2016. The next available flight to Santorini is 1:15 pm.

Also, does anyone know anything about any kind of temporary health insurance? Is it needed when traveling in Greece, Turkey, Germany, Austria, Czech Republic or Great Britain? Our U.S. insurance does not cover us overseas. If we need it, what are the best companies, etc.
