Can anyone tell me if it is possible to hire a taxi to go from Clinton, Arkansas to Mountain View, Arkansas
I'm from Minnesota and contemplating checking out Arkansas on a road trip in March/April timeframe. It's one of the only states I haven't been to. But ideally I'd show up when there are leaves on trees as it makes everything look much better. In Minnesota this doesn't happen until Late April/early May. How about in the Osarks in Northern Arkansas? What is typical?
Need to get from Fayetteville Ar to Fort Smith
Ar (Nov. 27 - Dec. 2). Suggestions?
I wonder if how long it takes depends on which state you live in.
Guys! State locals and/or travelers. Into the wild! I'm planning to get lost in the Ozark National Forest some time around the Labor Day and wondering what's the weather been like up there lately - raining, hot, dry? I've been looking forward to see all the beautiful waterfalls of Arkansas but with this heat wave passing thru the states, thank god Texas is ok this time compared to last year's 9 months of devastating drought, but what's going on in Arkansas weather-wise? Any input is greatly appreciated!
I am a female from India that is currently a resident in Los Angeles, California. Been here for the last five years now. Never had a chance to travel much within USA as much as I would like to. Ever since the Crystal Bridges musuem opened in last year November, I have been wanting to go there. Not sure if its safe to go on a solo trip. Appreciate your time to respond to my query.
Arkansas is my mother's favorite get away spot... is there any snow in Arkansas and where would it be in December??
I wanted to take my Wife to the Greenbrier in West Virginia, but she has gotten very ill, and on the list for a transplant. She simply can't handle the travel, nor can we afford to be that far from the transplant center in Columbia MO.
I want to find a luxury resort in Arkansas or Missouri, with a very nice spa for her to relax in.
I want this to be the event of her life. Something she can hang onto through what lays ahead for her. Something she will never forget. I want her waited on hand and foot, with nothing to go wanting.
I realize it won't be cheap, but she has gone from a vibrant 42 year old, to a 46 year old that feels like her body is 100 years old. She worked with abused and neglected kids as a family services investigator, now she needs something for her.
Where would be a good place? What would be utter perfection? She needs a break so badly.
I'll be in Cherokee Village in October and need to get to St. Louis Airport. What is the best route, and how long will it take to get there (I know it can't be exact, and there's always the possibility of traffic jams, but what is a reasonable expectation for a trip with no delays)?
Thanks very much.
My family and I are spending the 3rd week of June in Arkansas at a camp and 4-wheeler trail near Mena (Wolf Pen Gap) and I was wondering if anyone familiar with the area knows if there are any horse-riding trails near there. Any other suggestions of things to do or places to see near there would be most appreciated!
Angie (will be vacationing with my husband and a boy, 17, and a girl, 15.)
I will be in in the area on May 16th-19th and parts of North Texas, West Arkansas, and North Louisiana.
I was wondering if someone here goes noodleing/bare fishing/tickling in any streams or rivers in that general area and would be willing to have a companion for an afternoon enjoying the hobby and a few beers?
I would LOVE to try this form of fishing and it would be better to meet fellow VT members cause of it and my learning curve and mysterious bite count would hopefully be lower.
Please let me know. Thanks Ken.
Hi I am wanting to travel with my family in october this year from memphis to eureka springs for a few days and was wandering if anyone could suggest the best forms of transport available?cheers

I'll be in Boston next month and I really want to travel to Arkansas.. how long would a bus or train journey be between the two? or would a plane be more practical?
I'd like to go to Eureka Springs, then either Hot Springs or Mount Ida and possibly Altis - I don't have a car and was wondering if travel between them is possible.
any info is very much appreciated as its very hard to find the info I need on the net.
Is it possible to travel inexpensively between Arkansas and Kansas City - what is the best way?
Also what are the top places to see? I like wildlife and nature, I also would love to see the diamond mines and anything else fun.

Does anyone have any or know where to look for historical information on that old abandoned asylum in Morrilton, AR? Thanks a bunch!
I recently visited the Mount Ida area of AR and I'm wondering what the weather is like there year round... how humid are summers? ... how much rain? ... does it thunder much? (I love thunder storms) how cold does it get? ... and what about 'skeeters and chiggers? Any info appreciated! Thanks!
We are traveling to the Ozarks in early April and would like to rent a cabin near water and near hiking. We like quiet places that aren't too far from a few amenities. A kid-friendly place would be great. I have received over 40 emails from cabin rental places, but am totally in the dark about the region and the best place to stay. Word of mouth is so valuable in such situations--any recommendations?
I'll be in Fayettevile for 2 weeks in late October/early November, and will have the weekend free starting at noon on Friday, and have heard great things about canoeing the Buffalo River in the Ozarks. Is the last weekend too late to canoe this river (ie, is the water too low)? Are there other good spots for a 2-overnight canoe trip in the Ozarks? How far is the Buffalo (or other good rivers) from Fayetteville?
It will be our first trip to the Ozarks so we'd like to experience the best of what the region has to offer, so any suggestions about what we should do during our weekend are very welcome! Thanks!
What is the best hotel in mountain view. I've been to DAYS INN and was wondering if there was something better? thanks everyone. mikm
I've been on the Ozark Realty web site a few times. Not visited that area yet, but intrigued with buying a small piece of wooded Ozark land in Mo. or Arkansas. anyone got advice? Been to Harriet, Ark., near the Buffalo Nationl Park?
I'll frame my question in some context because I really do not want to offend anyone with my question. I think that the t.v. series COPS has got to be the worst thing to ever happen to tourism in the United States. My 8 year old Boy saw a show on the National Geographic Channel about the Crater of Diamonds park in Arkansas and has become big time focused on going there for a holiday. In fact given the possbility of Disneyland or Diamond and Crystal digging in Arkansas he keeps pushing for Arkansas. My wife is scared S**tless as she thinks that crime is rampant (her only referance is US Cable TV)in that part of the US, with a meth lab on every corner and out of country license plates nothing but a big bullseye. If anyone who lives in Arkansas can give a local realistic picture of safety in the state, or can point to any places on the internet it would be greatly appreciated. As we live 32 hours straight driving time to Arkansas information from the locals is the only way I can help my wife make an INFORMED choice. Thanks in advance for any help or opinions.
Hi. my husband and I are wanting to go rafting in the late spring. i am looking for info on a great river where the two of us can get a raft and go camping for a few days. some places you have to have 4 people to a raft, so we need someplace where you can get a raft for 2 people. thankyou angela
Any suggestions of hotels and things to do in Hot Springs? Also, any attractions in surrounding ares that others may have visited? A friend of mine was supposed to stay for five days but she said it is boring and her family came back early. Can't say much about that, she lives in SENATOBIA , MISSISSIPPI of all places. I haven't heard much about that exciting place!
Hi everyone - Has anyone visited here to dig for diamonds? My 12-year old wants to go, and I'm trying to decide if 1) it's worth it, and 2) where to stay, since it's too far for a day trip. Is it a good idea to stay the weekend in Hot Springs (we haven't been there either) & spend Saturday digging for diamonds in Murfreesboro? Any suggestions would be appreciated, including good but inexpensive restaurants & motels. Also, does anyone know if the park is insanely crowded during spring break? Thanks in advance, Karen
