Places to visit on way from Goreme & Ankara  (7 Answers)

Dear VT ians,

We are visiting Cappadocia region for our wedding anniversary. On our way back, we are thinking of leaving Goreme 1 night before the flight date, instead of 4 hrs long journey on the same day. Is there any good tourist spot (even offbeat) for a night stay on the way from Goreme and Ankara.

Also will the airport shuttle bus be operating 24 hrs ? Our flight reaches really at odd time 2 am!!!

Many thanks!

tourist agency in Ankara  (2 Answers)

Hello,

We will travel to East Turkey next September (2012).
We want to take a plane from Ankara to Kars (in Turkey)
We asked for a price by "cheap tickets" or "skyskanner" etc.
But a ticket from Brussels to Ankara is less expensive than
a ticket from Ankara to Kars (according to the prices of these
on line agencies).
Therefore we are looking for an agency situated in Ankara to buy
tickets to Kars.
We think that the price could be better?
Many thanks for your information.

Looking for a nice hotel in Ankara and places to go out in the evening  (9 Answers)

Hi folks, as I am going on a business trip to Ankara I need a nice hotel for one or two nights. Price is no problem, it can be expensive. Can anybody recommend something nice? And has anybody a suggestion of what to do in the evening? I am a woman alone, but would love to go out to places where people go in the evenings for having dinner or just a glass of wine?
Thank you so much! Silvia

bus tickets/Syrian embassy/hotel question  (4 Answers)

Hi,
Could anybody tell me where (in which area) the bus terminals are located in Ankara and where I could buy bus tickets? I'm planning the trip to Syria via turkey, so I'll need to buy the bus ticket for Antakia (or Adana);
Also, does anybody know where the Syrian embassy in Ankara is? I have an address from internet: Abdullah Cevdet Sokak, No.7 But I'm not sure if that is the place. Anyway, if anybody knows the exact address here it would be great, and if not _ I'll find it after arriving in Ankara.
and another question, I might need to stay in Ankara one or two days, as Ankara-Antakia bus schedule may not fit in my own travel schedule :)... so, where can I find some preferably cheap and safe (I mean safe for female traveler) place to stay there? maybe in Ulus area?( _ is that the name of old part of the city?)
thanks in advance!
nino.

Best of Ankara the flight to Istanbul?  (5 Answers)

that is what I heard some people said about Ankara. Please convince me there is more to see than just the last home of the Founder of the Turkish Republik, because I would like to stop in the capital on my way from Istanbul to the Van lake around 10. - 14.07.2003 I am interested in interesting places to see and interesting people to meet.
