Looking for either December or early April to go to Alabama. Never been. Want to do the coast. Which is the nicest beach, not too loud. Is the water warm enough in December or April/May.
I am relocating to the Baltimore area and will be driving from Dallas with a trailer. I am looking at routes that will have the fewest steep inclines or mountains and have not driven through Alabama before and was wondering if they have either. Any help would be appreciated.
Gulf shores or Orange beach? Any recommendations and what is the sufferance between the two areas?

Pensacola - Nashville is about 7 hours, not that much for a good driver like me but I wanna spend a nice day visiting Alabama. If you know a good place to stay on the road feel free to let me know. Thank you so much for your help!
Thinking of New Orleans and Gulf Shores next April. Can anyone give me any advice re weather, accommodation etc please? We may have to change in Atlanta coming from the UK so is Atlanta worth a 3 night stay?
Thinking of coming over next year starting in Atlanta then driving down to New Orleans. Can anyone suggest anywhere to stay for a few days in Alabama? Looked at Birmingham and Montgomery but not found much info. Really don't know much about Alabama so open to any suggestions please. We will be travelling with 19 year old son in June time. What's the temperature like in June?
What are the dates and times for the Pow Wows that are held at Ft. Rucker and are they held there every year? Thank you, Jane Doe
We will be visiting our son in Montgomery and would like to take a day trip. Two opposite directions seem interesting:
To Selma, Old Cahawba State Park, Demopolis back via Miller's Ferry and State Route 21
To Tuskegee, Auburn, Opelika, Wind Creek St Park and Wetumpka.
Any suggestions comments or opinions on these options?
How much does it cost to go to the U.S. space center?
Just wondering if Watumpka is worth a look. When I heard it is in a meteor crater, I thought WOW, but there aren't many photos of it. I watched Big Fish recently, but it didn't give much of a feel for the place either.
We are driving between Montgomery and Auburn here in a couple weeks, looking for interesting backroads places to explore, so is Watumpka worth a detour?? Cheers!
Where are some places to play shuffleboard in southeastern Alabama? Are there any?

We will be driving from Montgomery to Panama City Beach on 10/10/2006. Which is the better route, US231 or US331? I have traveled US231 from Dothan to Montogomery, but have not ever used US331. 331 seems to be shorter but what type of road conditions? Also, can anyony recommend some good BBQ in Montgomery near the I65 - US80 intersection? Thanks.
The fall, I'll be doing a road trip w/ my brother from Hollywood, Fl to our family home in New Mexico. I am thinking of taking I-10 through the Florida panhandle all the way to El Paso. I haven't heard from him about what he wants to see, but none of us a into amusement parks. Nature, history, art, and those kitcshy bits are the types of things I focus on when I road trip alone.
Are there sights I should not miss along this route?
Are there areas that are still not repaired from all of the hurricaine's last year that I should avoid ... or that I should stop in and lend a hand?
I know that Alabama will be the shortest leg of this trip, but if there is something 'not to miss' along I-10 ... well ... I wouldn't want to miss it!
BTW- Crossposting in the Florida, Miss, La, and Tx forums :)
anyone from mobile or semmes
