I'm Joe from Puerto Rico. I'll go to Sicily in a cruise ship(this nov) just for one day..
and I want to see all the temples (or the best of Sicily).. can any one give me advice or a tip on how to get to the temples... I think the
best way is to get the train from Palermo to Agrigento and then take a bus (but, which one?).. I really don't know!
>> Thanks in advance for any advace... !!
Palermo Centrale to Agrigento Centrale by train takes about 2 hours, trains run every couple of hours: see bahn.hafas.de/bin/query.exe/....
Normal city buses 1, 2 and 3 from in front of the railway station in Piazza Marconi go to the Valley of the Temples - you have to buy a ticket - about €1 - from a nearby kiosk (when you get on the bus stamp this in the machine). Ask the driver to stop at "Posto di Ristoro" for the ticket office in front of the Temple of Ercole.
See map on planetware.com/map/agrigento...
Train is ok. Just to offer you an alternative, the bus company Cuffaro provides a bus service from Palermo to Agrigento. You can check timetables and prices on their site:
Thanks sooooo MUCH!!! I really appreciate it!
Does anyone know if small size guided tours are available once you get to the Valley of the Temples? Anyone know of a tour company to contact in advance of arrival in Agrigento? Am looking for a tour which leaves Agrigento or the Valley of the Temples site.
