Finding something of interest to teenagers can always be a bit of a problem. Cities like London obviously have a huge range of things to do, especially if you're travelling in winter. The theatre district is terrific and, if you're there around Christmas, the markets and the lights along Regent St are a sight to see. There is also really good mid-ranged food near the major markets like Borough Market. Some great other ones to check out include Camden Market and portobello markets. Everywhere you look in London there's some amazing historical monument. In terms of museums though, I think Victoria & Albert Museum is one of the best.

Of course, very similar sentiments can be expressed about New York City - food, sights, museums, theatre, music - it's all there. It's also one of the great walking cities, unlike London where you'll need to budget both time and money for transport. The Oyster card is particularly handy in London.

I've no idea if you have a particular region in mind but another amazing place, with plenty to do and see (and eat) is Hong Kong. Getting around is a breeze - taxis are relatively cheap and plentiful, getting ferries between the island and Kowloon are great fun. Hope this gives you some inspiration!
