Heading to Vietnam next week. What should I do?

I'm flying into Hanoi. No plans at all! My return flight is scheduled for 2 weeks later but who knows, maybe I'll stay longer. Open to anything!

I'm thinking about heading to Halong Bay and Sapa. Any suggestions would be great!

Ninh Binh , Cat Ba Island , Haiphong are not too far from Hanoi.

In the center, well known stops are Hoi An UNESCO town with a lot of charm, Hue imperial city. In the south, Ho Chi Minh City economic capital of the country and access to Mekong Delta .

Other stops: Nha Trang , Phu Quoc , Da Nang Qui Nhon for the beaches, Da Lat for the people and mountains.

    Hope this helps!

Hi Ryan! I traveled all over Vietnam a few years and Hanoi was by far my favorite place in the entire country... the food, the culture, the people... it's just incredible! Definitely give yourself at least four full days there. Some of the best street food I've had in my life.

As far as other recommendations go, Ha Long Bay was one of the highlights of my entire Southeast Asia trip, not just Vietnam. There are many tour options... ranging from budget to full on luxurious, so you can't really go wrong. I'd recommend a 2 night/3 day boat trip. I never made it to Sa Pa, which I regret terribly as I have heard from numerous people that it is incredible.

    Enjoy your trip!

Do you have any special street food location or specific restaurant in Hanoi you'd recommend? I know the Old Quarter is supposedly a good place to start. · (0 likelikes)
