"Cruise excursions Vancouver to New Zealand (South Pacific cruise)?"
From September to November, I will be cruising from Vancouver to New Zealand, making stops in the South Pacific and Australia. I am looking for budget friendly excursions and experiences for a solo traveller throughout the cruise.
Most stops are only 8 to 9 hours long, however, I would like to experience each place to the fullest in this short amount of time.
Any ideas from little known cultural experiences to typical tourist attractions are welcome! I don't want to miss out.

When you are in Hobart (presuming your itinerary has you passing here), there are numerous excursions which you can arrange on board. One popular one is to Port Arthur (Australia), although many liners now cruise in there as part of the journey. If your vessel is not pulling in there definitely put it on your list. If you are more a self-help kind of traveler, then to the top of Mt Wellington is a must, and is just 20 min from downtown (grab a cab), as is a trip to MONA - the Museum of Old and New Art. If you have seen Australian animals elsewhere all very good, but to see the Tasmanian Devil 'at home' so-to-speak, head to Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary.
Have also spotted a Photography Tour. Everyone likes to take photos - but combine that with a tour which teaches you to take GOOD photos whilst actually taking you to most of the goodplaces you would normally 'tour' to - that sounds like a good idea. http://www.shutterbugwalkabouts.com.au/cruise-ship-shore-excursions.shtml
