Best places to eat in the Ebisu neighborhood?

I'm heading to Tokyo next April and looking to eat somewhere trendy and local without spending a fortune. I've heard the Ebisu neighborhood of Tokyo has cool restaurants and bars. Can someone recommend the best places to eat and drink in this part of town?

Get the Peking Duck at "Chinese Cafe 8" (my favourite Chinese restaurant anywhere), it is soooo good! Also the decor is interesting, though unless you know to look you don't tend to notice straight away.

Anyway their site with map is here

They mention their specialty (the duck) here

Everything is on your doorstep there, you're not more than a bike ride from Shibuya (I've walked it on a number of occasions).

I'm a bit of a ramen snob; I will eat ramen in only 2 places in Tokyo. Kazuki in Ebisu is one of them: http://www.ramentokyo.com/2012/08/kazukiebisu.html

I'm not sure if this restruant is still there but, they have a cheese based ramen shop called "Tsukumo Ramen". I didn't think it was going to be very good but I was pleasantly surprised. It's worth a shot.

Last time I was in Ebisu I went to this place Ebisu Yokocho see map here:

    http://www.japantimes.co.jp/life/2008/11/21/food/bright-lights-retro-style/#.VCpYcq2wov4

Its a self described "food alley" where hey have different small stands selling yakitori, oden, kushikatsu (deep-fried kebabs) and okonomiyaki pancakes among many other. The atmosphere is incredible and the food can't be beat. Get there early as it packs up fast.

There are so many great restaurants in the Ebisu. Just list some I tried and liked.

    1. 和食 おやまだ(おやまだ): unique food and tasty. Better go with someone who know Japanese.
    2. Ushigoro Kan Yakiniku & Sake(うしごろ 貫): A little expensive, but if you like yakiniku(焼肉), it's worth every penny.
    3. 函館ラーメン しお貫(しお貫): if you want to try some ramen in this area, this is a good start :)

Others like: Mita Seimen (三田製麺所), 恵比寿 うどん 山長 (うどん山長), Kimukatsu (キムカツ) are also pretty good.
