Honeymoon Hotel Recommendations?

We'd love to know if anyone has travelled to Seminyak as part of their honeymoon or a romantic getaway.  We'll be travelling to Bali next October and are struggling to narrow down all the options, even when we've chosen locations.  We'll be in Seminyak for approximately 5 days, and price per night is ideally around $500 - $650.

The good news first: you have an excellent budget! You'll be able to enjoy the best accommodations Bali has to offer. The bad news now: there is no bad news :D

While this option is not affordable for most, in your case I would recommend looking into 1-bedroom villas. Villas offer a lot more space and privacy than a hotel room. You'll get your own swimming pool and staff to pamper you... How cool is that! :)

For instance, try to beat this location in Seminyak: Villa Solo (Lakshmi Villa Solo).

I would definitely recommend a stay in Ubud as well. There nothing can beat Villa Shamballa (Villa Shamballa). Words wouldn't do justice to the massage and wonderful dinner you will get there, so I'll just say: try it yourself. And look at this view...

    Ubud

The beaches on Bali were very dirty and disappointing. We are talking the ideal romantic view with plastic bags and trash floating in the ocean. If you choose to stay there, expect this for your five star hotel. I went there for my honey room and we stayed at numerous places over 2 weeks. If we could do it again we would just stay at the cheap hotel in Ubud across from Buddha's Belly with the awesome pool and suites (very cheap), the Eco friendly hotel with glass floor bungalows on/near rice plantations, and a majority of my stay at Nusa Lembongan at the most expensive hotel there. Great snorkeling and clean beaches. Requires a scary speed boat ride there.
