Apartments in San Francisco

I will be staying in San Francisco for a month in April. Any suggestions for not too expensive accommodation?

Have you looked at Airbnb? You can find some pretty affordable places, (especially for long term stays) through that site. Ultimately, price is going to be largely dependent on neighborhood so I would look for places in neighborhoods that are generally less touristy like Inner Richmond District or even Haight-Ashbury . SF is a small city with such great transportation that you shouldn't worry too much about being super close to the main attractions or nightlife. I lived in SF for 3 months this past summer and the primary areas that I visited for bars and restaurants were the Mission District (my favorite!), Alamo Square , Pacific Heights and Marina District / Cow Hollow . If I could afford it I would probably choose to stay in the Mission near Mission Dolores Park because it has aaaaamazing restaurants and fun bars. Here is a great map of SF neighborhoods: http://www.paragon-re.com/San_Francisco_Neighborhood_Map

Check out Airbnb. There's a ton of good long-term options that are cheap but in great areas. Pacific Heights , Marina District , Nob Hill , and Russian Hill are all great locations to see the city.

The suburbs in East Bay and down in the The Peninsula are going to be cheaper. If you want to stay in the city, Potrero Hill is quiet and can have nice views. Bernal Heights is nice and just south of the popular neighborhood the Mission District .

Airbnb.com is likely your best bet. Outside of that, you could try craigslist.

Hi there! I'd use AirBnb -- often many of the apartments have cheaper monthly rates. All neighborhoods are great for unique reasons-- but I'd first check in Hayes Valley , NoPa , the Mission District , Cole Valley or Lower Haight !

If they have a room available, Monroe Residences is a good place. The price includes two meals per day.
