    You have two options:

the 1st one is to take a cab, it will cost you 40 to 50 euros (4 people going to the airport in October: it cost us 50 euros). So if you are more than one people you can share the cost and you can catch the light and the beautiful Sunday in Rome!

the 2nd option is to take the Leonardo Express train to Stazione Roma Termini (Termini Station-Central Station for trains and metro). It will cost you 14 euros per person, the journey is 30 minutes and train leaves every half an hour from Fiumicino . From Termini you have to take the metro to Manzoni station (2 stations from Termini, Line A-Red colour) which is the closest station in walking distance to Via di porta Maggiore

Hi Carmen, I usually take the train leonardo express which is the most used connection as it is the most fast but it cost a lot being just 35 min.. 15 euro, sometime I take the bus also direct take 1 hour or less and cost about 5/8 euro. Both are easy to find in the airport no problem. Both arrives in Rome main Stazione Roma Termini. From Termini take public tram or bus to Porta Maggiore ask out of station easy too.. or you take a taxi about 8/10 euro 5 min. Ride.

There is a bus that runs regularly from the terminal at Fiumicino Airport and 6 euros pp. Ask the driver where to get off ... you may walk a little bit to your accomodation

The charge of taxi is roughly 55 euro if you order through reception, should be a fixed price, but doublecheck with the driver. I stayed at Best Western Artdeco close to Termini. · (0 likelikes)

    Hi Carmen,

I recently stayed close to the Porta Maggiore and I used the Terravision bus from Fiumicino Airport to Stazione Roma Termini. It will cost you 6 euros, as mentioned in another post, and 4 euros if you buy it online. The bus is reliable and once you are at Termini, you are about 1.5 km from Porta Maggiore. You can also use the same bus system for your return to FCO, as early as 4.30 am.
