Calm place, 1 hour away from Paris?

Hey there! I am looking for a calm place with a park or a forest near by, 1 hour away from Paris. I want to go on the countryside some times on the weekend and I am looking for a place to rest an be surrounded by nature. Thanks!!

Fontainebleau with the castle and forest are wonderful!

Rambouillet and Promenade des Quatre-Forêts between Chatenay-Malabry and Meudon are also lovely alternatives!

You can go to the Palace of Versailles, I love the gardens and the Domain de Marie Antoinette, right there. Is a beautiful way to spend a nice day

If you are looking for a luxurious chateau to stay in, try Château de Bourron at Bourron-Marlotte very near Fontainebleau. And in Giverny, try the website Esprit de France, they have some partner hotels outside of Paris. Or take the TGV from Paris Montparnasse to Vendome, only 43 min ride, and then you are really in the countryside, rural France, total peace

Fontainebleau has a great forest (+ a superb castle). There are plenty of trails in the forest if you want to hike, such as "le circuit des 25 bosses" http://www.25bosses.com/ (more on http://www.fontainebleau-tourisme.com/index.php/en/discover/by-the-forest.html)
