Best mountains for snowboarding?

I've been a season snowboarder at several different locations in the European Alps, Now travelling down under to find the best piste. Any tips on finding and tackling the New Zealand mountains?

If you're a seasoned snowboarder you want to ski Treble Cone and Cardrona Ski Halfpipe, which are 30mins out of Wanaka and 2 hrs drive from Queenstown. The Remarkables Ski Area has the best terrain park and Coronet Peak Ski Area is very simple, more suited for beginners. I recommend spending some time in Wanaka as it's much closer for the best parks, but you must stay in Queenstown as well. Queenstown is 45mins drive to Remarkables and 30mins to Coronet. Depending on your budget they also have Heli-skiing for $800 a day.

    Hi Ken!

I currently live in Wanaka and love it! We have the most skiable terrain in the southern hemisphere and it is awesome. The best time to come is in August/September when the skiing is fantastic. Best moutain, I would have to say if you are an experienced skier, Treble Cone is the best for epic powder, magic off-piste and stunning trails and views. Recently voted the Best Ski Resort in NZ at the World Ski Awards, Treble Cone is simply the best!Treble Cone
