Oh man - this is a great debate in NYC! Shake Shack is probably the most popular if you like a classic takeaway burger. My favorite location is in Madison Square Park. The burgers at Upland are getting a lot of attention these days but good luck getting in! The Black Label burger at Minetta Tavern is pretty epic and worth the price.

Hey! Another spot to seek out is Island Burgers and Shakes in Hell's Kitchen. I'm not sure if it was because I'd been walking around all day and came in starving, or if a burger here is really to die for, but I remember it being delicious. Go in and see if my memory serves us well!

I like where your head's at Breanna!

So a lot of people will probably tell you Shake Shack and Burger Joint, which are definitely good, but I think overrated. Corner Bistro is a great dive and open last into the night (early into the morning). I've heard good stuff about The Spotted Pig.

If you're looking for an unusual burger go to Bareburger . If you're looking for something classic definitely Burger Joint - it's hidden and almost always busy so go at an off time.

Uff well this is a tough question... & yes, I'd happily test all submissions ha!

Mark although technically more a "slider", MarkBurger is your best bet after a few drinks in the Village and want something cheap. You can't go wrong with double bacon sliders topped with caramelized onions.

Umami Burger focuses on the Japanese word "umami" or savory -- and they sure do hit the mark. Their Manly Burger is just bursting with flavor -- house beer-cheddar & bacon lardons. Each branch has its own signature burger. Don't skimp on the house-made ketchup either!

Delmonico's are said to be the 1st to serve the "Hamburg steak" on their menu dating back to 1834. For a nostalgic ode to NYC, they still serve it today, no frills just quality.

The Spotted Pig serves a delicious, albeit pricey burger. What you get is a combination of brisket, chuck, and short loin with Roquefort bleu on a toasted brioche.

    Good luck!

Behind a red velvet curtain in the beautiful Le Parker Meridien New York, follow the neon arrow to *Burger Joint for a simple, no frills burger.

There are a few Shake Shack locations in the city now, but my favorite is the original in Madison Square Park, which recently re-opened. They have delicious burgers and crinkled fries, but I love their veggie burger - a fried portobello mushroom stuffed with cheese... c'mon! I'll meet you there!

Other favorites include *J.G. Melon and PJ Clarke's for the classic burger, both delicious in their own right!
