"Dog-friendly activities/beaches in the Myrtle area?"
Manhattan Beach, California
I'm planning a trip to the area with my dad, and we'd like to bring Joe, our family's Redbone Coonhound. Any good beaches? Or parks, activities, et cetera?
Also, it's always nice to have contact info for a good vet: any recommendations?

Myrtle Beach in the summer is not very dog friendly. They have strict beach hours and people patrolling. There is a dog park near North Myrtle Beach but it was kind of dirty when we went and there were too many unfriendly dogs that we left shortly after arrival. The fall is much nicer for bringing your dog. We go a few times a year and the summer is just rough. Evening hours after 7 are the best time to hit the beach but dogs still have to remain leashed (we just bring a long one so we can technically say they are leashed). Sorry this is probably not the most helpful answer but it is a realistic one. Enjoy the trip!!
