One afternoon & evening in Miami... What is a must-see?

My boyfriend and I are staying at the Regency Hotel Miami for one night in August before we embark on a cruise around the Caribbean. We're looking for suggestions on where to go with the little time we have. Any must-sees in this area? We've never been to Miami before. Also, recommendations on restaurants nearby would be greatly appreciated! We're both students in our 20s, so keep in mind that we're on somewhat of a budget. Thanks in advance!

Miami now has a Hop On Hop Off which rides you from Downtown Miami to South Beach. Also in or near Miami is Jungle Island, The Sawgrass Recreation Park and Everglades Air Boat Ride. Try the cuban food at Versailles Restaurant, 3555 SW 8th Street, in the heart of Little Havana.

Regency Hotel Miami, while conveniently close to Miami International Airport, is some distance from South Beach and Miami Beach's Art Deco District, as well as the Lincoln Road Mall, likeliest most interesting for a daytime excursion and, for many visitors, nighttime, too.

Depending upon your interests - if art-oriented, go to Miami's expansive and graffiti-loaded Wynwood area or to its chic new Pérez Art Museum, for instance - there are so many options.

For an interesting meal near The Regency, consider Versailles in Little Havana, any time of day...

Hi Carmen! I must say the most important thing to see in miami is miami beach. The beach is gorgeous during the day and its really fun to people watch. Also I think a drive down Ocean Dr in Miami Beach at night is a must. The art deco buildings are all lit up and full of people at the different restaurants and bars. I hope you enjoy yourself. Miami is a really fun city.
