What are the best things to do in Malta when you're there for 3 days? :)

Me and my boyfriend are going to Malta for our anniversary. We would like to know the top things we should do while in Malta for 3 days. We will probably rent a car so we can drive around the island!

There is plenty to do in Malta!

Visit Saint John's Co-Cathedral , Upper Barrakka Gardens in the beautiful city of Valletta. You can also walk through the narrow alleys and take lunch and/or coffee there absorbing the atmosphere.

Then there is Mdina which is a fortified city near Rabat.

For a quieter option you can take the ferry and cross to Gozo. The Azure Window , Xlendi, Marsalfornand Sanap CLiffs or Ġgantijatemples are all a must see!.

Head for the south to visit Birguor Vittoriosa, Cospicuaor Cospicuaand Marsaxlokk,a fishing village. You can also go to Marsascala, Ghar Dalam Cave ( a prehistoric cave) and Kalkarato see the Rinella Movie park and Smart city.

    ENjoy.

For three days I would suggest Valletta - you can easily spend a day walking round visiting historical sites and museums. Saint John's Co-Cathedralis a must see. There are also quite a few good restaurants. Don't miss the upper barrakka gardens for some great harbour views. From Valletta you can also get a ferry to Birgu and the three cities, where you can see the maritime museum and the area around. Mdina is the other must visit. Don't miss cakes at Fontanella. You should also visit some of the historical sites: the Hal Saflieni Hypogeum, Hagar Qim Neolithic Temple and Mnajdra Neolithic Temples for example. If it's not winter then of course there are the beaches- best ones are Ghadira, Golden bay and Ghajn Tuffiegha. If it's only three days Gozo is probably not an option. If you want to do some shopping Best areas are either Valletta or Sliema.

Great list, Gianfranco! One thing I would add: seafood dinner in Marsaxlokk. Definitely a day in and around Valletta, and since you're driving, I would base myself there, lovely setting at night...and Amorino gelato! Do not miss the Hypogeum, make advance reservations, now, if possible, and Hagar Qim/Mnajdra is the best above ground on the big island. I would also recommend seeing St Paul's grotto just outside Mdina, both me and my wife really appreciated that little stop. · (0 likelikes)

you should go and have a look in the capital,Valletta, is a beautiful city with a beautiful architetture, in Imdina you will see the view of all the island, then the golden bay is one of the best in the island, and if you still have time, you should go to visit the island of Gozo.
