Hey Glenn! One of my favorite spots in Malaysia is from far the Perhentian Islands. It's awesome for diving (turtles, sharks, an so many fishes species), kayaking, snorkeling, sun-bathing! It's a little paradise, check this out from my previous trip :)

Perhentian IslandsWe stayed at Abdul Chalet and it was wonderful!

    Hello!

Malaysia is an amazing country! We spent about three weeks there, itinerary was:

    - Malacca

    - Kuala Lumpur

    - One week in Sabah, Borneo (climbing Mt Kinabalu, Sandakan, Danum Valley (Lembah Danum))

    - Cameron Highlands for amazing tea plantations

    - Georgetown (Malaysia)

I am currently posting about our trip on my travel blog: www.ooaworld.com/travel where you'll find costs and activities. My latest post was about the food we got to try in Malaysia: http://www.ooaworld.com/food-post-eating-malaysia/

Coming up will be the rest of Borneo, Cameron Highlands and Georgetown.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate!

You should go Penang Melaka for food. If diving or snorkelling u can go Pulau Redang. In Kuala Lumpur U can go street petaling to have a walk. If want shopping u can go Kuala Lumpur City Centre, Mid Valley Megamall and Sunway Pyramide Mall.

In Kuala Lumpur also got plently of night market. Which I recommended is at Connaught Avenue Wednesday night 7pm-12am.

GO: check out Batu Caves, it's a cheap train ride from Kuala Lumpur City Centre (less than €1 for a return ticket) and no admission once you get there.

Also awesome is either Langkawi (for a nice beach getaway and great food) or Penang.

EAT: China Town area (Jalan Sultan Ismail) is worth a visit for some simple but tasty duck and rice or other options such a BBQ skewers of various foods.

For some awesome Indian food at Little India (Tandoori chicken and Naan for a few dollars).

I would recommend you to visit Langkawi Island. One day my friends and I went to this cluster of more than a hundred islands separated from mainland Malaysia by the Straits of Malacca. We had such a great time. We booked a pretty cheap car at http://malaysia.rentalcars24h.com/langkawi-airport/price and enjoyed our adventures. Langkawi was given a World Geo park status by UNESCO, so the nature there is breathtaking.

In addition, Langkawi is a duty-free island, which makes it a very favorable place for shopping.
