Anyone know about Madrid flea markets?

Wondering if there are any flea markets in Madrid. If so, where are they located and how often do they happen?

    Candace,

The most famous 'flea market' in Madrid is El Rastro. It's on Sunday morning and holidays (in the morning also). I reccomend to go early as it is very crowded. And be very aware of your stuff.

Then there are occasional markets like "Mercado de Productores" at Matadero Madrid the last weekend of each month (food and delicatessen only), and sometimes some artesan objects at some plazas.

There is also Rastrillo de Tetuan near Av de Asturias (food, clothes, accesories mainly, on sunday morning), Mercadillo de Goya Av Felipe II (monday-saturday all day), Feria del libro Cuesta de Moyano (Books, every day), Mercadillo de Majadahonda - outskirts of Madrid (Tuesdays and Saturday morning) Calle Santa Catalina.

    I hope thish helps! :)

Agreed, on the El Rastro "be aware of your stuff" my travel partner had her wallet stolen there. · (0 likelikes)

Look int El Rastro-it takes up multiple blocks throughout Madrid (just south of the most central part of the city). I believe it is held every Sunday.
