Amanda Renner

Venice, California

What's your favorite pizza place in Los Angeles?

My go-to spots are great (Abbot's in Venice, Village in Hollywood, Joe's in Santa Monica) but I'm always looking for new places to try!

What's your favorite slice in LA?

Some of my favorite Italian style pizzas are zpizza, King of New York Pizzeria Pub, and The Luggage Room Pizzeria. Not into thick crust so you'll have to ask someone else!

Stella Barra Pizzeria is one of my favorite places for really good, gourmet pizza. There's a location in Santa Monica and one in Hollywood, too. If you're looking for a cheaper/simpler option, Fresh Brothers - Santa Monica is my go-to (there are several locations in LA).

Stella Barra is excellent! I highly recommend the shaved mushroom w/ truffle pizza as well as the sausage pizza. Crust is nice and thin, both the white and tomato sauces are excellent. If you're in the Santa Monica location sit at the bar, talk to strangers, and enjoy the super fun and friendly bar staff. Jen and Casey are really sweet. Enjoy! · (1 likelikes)

My go-to delivery place is Lucifers. There's one in Los Feliz and one on Melrose (Lucifers Pizza). Lucifers PizzaIt's got an array of unique pizzas. People go crazy for the Roasted Pumpkin and Prosciutto pie, but I've never personally tried it.

A lot of pizza places aren't consistent, but I keep going back to Lucifer's because of the convenience, consistency and taste. Plus you can adjust the spicy level of the tomato sauce, which is cool.

The Luggage Room Pizzeria has the most delicious crust I've ever had in my life. Not exaggerating. I usually leave crust on my plate, but I eat every crumb there. I believe it's all organic.

The best NY-style pizza in LA is Joe's Pizza in Santa Monica. You won't find any gluten free, artisan, 12 cheese, truffle oil, fancy stuff here - just the perfect slice of pep or cheese. Pro-tip: tastes best around 2am.

As others have said, Pizzeria Mozza is fantastic.

Masa of Echo Park Bakery & Cafe does the best Chicago-style pie I've had this side of the Mississippi. Come with a group or plan on having leftovers for a week.

You're familiar with Abbot's Pizza Company (and Grey Block Pizza is the same thing), and I love them.

Pitfire Artisan Pizza has a bunch of locations and I like it, especially because there are good options if someone doesn't want pizza; their ingredients tend to be high quality.

Pizzeria Mozza on Melrose and Highland. Created by Nancy Silverton(La Brea bakery - yum) Mario Batali (delicious Italian twists) and Joseph Bastianich (some of the best places in LA & Las Vegas). Squash blossom pizza subtle but every bite worth the calories, the mushroom - cannot see the through the forest here of mushrooms! My favorite the Bianca with a blend of high quality cheeses and fried sage leaves. The crust is light, puffy and I ask for it to be cooked on the lighter side (I don't like it blackened).

If you sit at the pizza bar or wine bar Monday - Thursday a ONLY noon - 5:00pm or 11:00pm - midnight you can get any pizza, any dessert and a glass of house white or red ( or substitute for iced tea or lemonade) $20. Normally around $40-$45. But you MUST sit at the bar and ask for the bar special. So worth it! Enjoy!
