Mt Wilson, I've just did this trail a couple weeks ago 100% recommendable, specially with all the water we've been getting these last few days

Two I would recommend: Solstice Canyon and Los Liones Trailhead. Solstice Canyon is about 2.5 miles roundtrip with beautiful views! The last time I was there I did come across a rattlesnake however, so just be on the lookout.

Los Lioness to the Parker Mesa overlook is a great one too at about 7.5 miles round trip if you want something longer. On a clear day, you can even see Catalina! Here's a picture I took from one of the lower overlooks on my way up to Parker Mesa.

Los Liones TrailheadAlso, here are some great answers from another LA hiking question on Trippy: http://www.trippy.com/question/Los-Angeles-HIking-in-Los-Angeles

    Have fun!

There are some nice hikes if you go up Chantry Flats Rd. There is a ranger station up there and from here you can start diffrent trails.

You also could try to go up to Crystal Lake Recreation Area. They have camping spots up there and you also can rent cabins if you want to stay for the weekend. Also some great hikes here, up the mountains or along them.

I just went on a great hike in Chatsworth at the Santa Susana Mountains at the park with a guide and it was really great, lots of things to see. I believe they have a FB page called Friends of the Santa Susana Mountains

I'm sure you've done Runyon several times as well as the Hollywood Sign hike but there's a hike up by the Glendale Central Library I don't know what it's called but here's the link http://www.yelp.com/biz/beaudry-loop-hike-glendale it's fairly close by and offers awesome views! It's also close to my work headquarters :)
