First of all, if this is your first time in Europe, you must do the touristy things... they landed on the tourist track for a reason! In Paris, do not miss: the Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame de Paris, Sacre Coeur & Montmartre, Louvres, the Musée d'Orsay, Les Invalides, and a walk along the La Seine. Go out of town & see Versailles & Giverny.

In London: get on the hop-on, hop-off Big Red Bus. This will give you an overview of London, & then you can go back & visit the things that strike your fancy. Personally I love the Tower Of London & its history. Then there is Saint Paul's Cathedral, the Houses Of Parliment, Westminster Abbey, Tower Bridge, Trafalgar Square. Churchill's War Rooms are amazing! If you are a Beatles fan, find the Abbey Rd crosswalk; if you are a Sherlock Holmes fan, go to 222-B Baker St. Kew Gardens if you like gardens. Leicester Square if you want to take in a show. Greenwich, if you are interested in astronomy. Other than that, just wander around & soak up history by osmosis.

Sorry... I can't speak of Berlin.

For London, I recommend walking along the south bank starting at Tower Bridge and going as far west as you like (it's quite a long walk all the way to the London Eye!). The night view on the skyline and monuments is really nice

For Paris, I would recommend also to just have a walk around the small streets of the Quartier Du Marais and of the Saint-Germain-des-Prés area. It will get you out of the tourist flow and around some really nice bars, shops etc. Also in Paris, if you're a fan of real authentic Italian food I can recommend the Settebello at 9 Rue Duban, you have to reserve, it's quite pricy, but so worth it.

    Have fun !

If you are a foodie then you need to take in London's burgeoning street food & food market scene. It is awesome! A particular recommendation is to go to Brixton Village and also Brixton Market which are my local culinary fixes. They are full of small, reasonably priced independent restaurants including Honest Burgers and Franco Manca. Each place could lay claim to being the best burger and pizza in the city respectively. Loads more in there including great pakistani curries at Elephant. Brixton is good area to visit in any case, off the tourist trail and has a vibrant atmosphere with a big Caribbean influence. You will not be bored!

Berlin - Take a walking tour from Hackescher Marktto get some history from a usually entertaining host. Visit the Holocaust Memorial, Museum Island, take a boat cruise along the spree to take in the architekture. Sammlung Boros is a private art collection housed in an above ground bunker in Mitte, you have to book a tour in advance (via their website) highly recommended! Spend an evening in the little bars around Weserstraße. If you're into club music visit Berghain. Spend Sunday shopping at MauerPark flea market then see the remaining Berlin Wall nearby. If you have time visit the Bauhaus Archive, New National Gallery & Potsdamer Platz and the Bundestag. Have fun!
