Coed Turkish bath in Istanbul?

Any recommendations for coed Turkish baths ion Istanbul? Also should we make reservations a couple weeks in advance or can we make day-of appointments?

The most famous one which is managed by Tourism and Culture Ministry is http://www.galatasarayhamami.com/hammam/ .

    Tarihi Galatasaray Erkekler Hamamı

Another most important and famous one is http://www.suleymaniyehamami.com.tr/ and luckily it is co-ed:) Süleymaniye Hamamı

Here is a list of active and historic hamams in Istanbul and it is stated if it is unisex in the details http://wikitravel.org/en/Hamams_of_Istanbul

also if you like to experience a modern one with luxury style and if you do not have any concern interms of bugdet I would recommend you Ciragan Palace Kempinski (it is also historic, Ottoman Palace and amazing yet today it is managed as Hotel) or The Edition Hotel SPA Çırağan Palace Hotel

    Edition Hotel Istanbul

Enjoy your trip to Istanbul, welcome already ;)

here is my travel blog..I will tell about Istanbul a lot asap. www.mapkini.com

and one other point to remember; co-ed situation is not only because of being Muslim it is all about culture. Hamams especially are the places where Sultans were prepared with their servants for being more beautiful before meeting with Padisah ;)

Try the Ayasofya Hurrem Sultan Hamami. It's in the Sultanamet Area between the Hagia Sofia and the Blue Mosque. You should make your reservation no less than a day in advanced.

This isn't actually a co-ed bathhouse and I'm not sure that there are any co-ed baths because you do get butt-ball-naked and it is still a Muslim country.

However at this hamam, the men are serviced on one side and the women on another (same building). So your boo will just be next door. Make sure you go inside check out the facility and services. It's about $110 for the basic service. It was worth the experience.
