What to do for couple during Easterbreak?

My boyfriend and I are going to Bucharest this spring. We already have our hotel centrally located. Now the question is what to do which is not too standard or touristy. We like shopping and restaurants. We hear different stories on safety, any experience with that?

Hello, Agnes! I've received this notification through my email few days ago and wanted so much to write you. Spring in Bucharest is absolutely wonderful. Great choice! I've been living in Bucharest for 3 years now and nothing bad had happened to me. But, always keep an eye on your bags! So, if it helps, I may have some recommendations. For example, if your hotel is located right in the heart of the Bucharest, I totally recommend a nice walk around the Old City . You can find some nice, very intimate boutiques and also good, traditional restaurants such as: ' Hanul lui Manuc ' or ' Caru' cu Bere '. If you like shopping, Băneasa Shopping City is what you need. You can find there lots of international brands. If you're looking for a smaller shopping center, there is ' Promenada ' located nearby Metrou Station Aurel Vlaicu. It should be easy to get there from where you stay by taking the subway. If you want to hang out someplace different, maybe for a tea and a cozy-homy feeling, visit ' Bohemia Tea House ' or ' Lente & Cafea '.

Ah and if you want to buy gifts for family/friends, visit ' Cărturești ', it is centrally located as well. You can find the store in Promenada mall as well.

For other helpful tips, please contact me. Have a wonderful city break!

You shouldn't be too worried too much about safety, Bucharest is not that dangerous. Although keep your pockets close. The dangerous zones are "Ferentari", "Militari", and "Tei" (you can check them out on google maps). Also "Obor" is a little dangerous, there keep a closer look at your pockets.

I recommend " Piața Unirii " (a lot of cool activities like shopping, food, clubs), " Parcul Herăstrău ", " Parcul Titan ", " Movieplex (Movieplex Romania)" (my favorite cinema).

You can have a boat ride during the night in Cismigiu, visit Bellu Cemetery if your up for some thrills :), check out a communist tour Bucharest City Tour, and if you're in the mood for a castle try out Castelul Tepes from Parcul Carol I.

Nice places to have a drink: Control Club, Alandala Cafe, Grădina Eden.

    Abandoned houses: Luigi Cazzavillan Palace.
